We Are:
Mainframe Modernization at Accenture works directly with our clients guiding their modernization journey of their core mainframe applications to AWS plus partnering closely with AWS and our client account teams. Our team provides the bridge between executives and technical teams focused on identifying and removing barriers that might imped a successful mainframe modernization project.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mainframe Modernization Architect to join our dynamic team. This person will play a key role in guiding our clients through the modernization process, leveraging your expertise in mainframe systems, AWS cloud services, application/data separation, and modernization tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with clients to assess their current mainframe systems and identify opportunities for modernization and optimization.
- Develops and implement modernization strategies tailored to each client's unique needs and objectives.
- Leads the design and implementation of mainframe-to-AWS migration projects, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption to operations.
- Works closely with project teams to refactor, re-architect, and re-platform mainframe applications for AWS deployment.
- Defines data migration strategies, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (CDC) processes.
- Utilizes mainframe modernization tools with a focus on AWS Mainframe Modernization Service to automate processes and improve efficiency.
- Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and project stakeholders.
- Acts as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into understandable terms.
- Stays current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to mainframe modernization and cloud computing.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 15 years of experience working with mainframe systems, including COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM, etc.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working with AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudFormation.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate’s Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experiencex).
Preferred Skills:
Experience with mainframe modernization tools such as Micro Focus Enterprise Developer, Blu Age, or Modern Systems.
Proficiency in application/data separation techniques, including decoupling applications from underlying data structures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, IBM Certified Developer, or similar are a plus.
Professional Skill Requirements:
Client interfacing and strong communication skills.
Demonstrated creativity in complex problem solving and ability to work under pressure.
Strong project/program management experience.
Effective communicator with great interpersonal skills and the ability to be credible with clients.
Ability to take business problems, existing processes and technology and translate these into service and process requirements.
Strong analytical skills with a structured problem-solving approach.
High energy levels and commitment to stringent timeline.
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York or Washington as set forth below.
