Droga5’s Business Affairs Department takes a solution-oriented approach to mitigating risk in content production. Our primary role is to advise and support the Production teams in all matters, including contracting with production vendors, content licensing and clearance, talent procurement, traffic and managing/reconciling production budgets. BA’s focus is to ensure the agency delivers quality, thought-provoking content that surpasses our client’s core marketing goals with minimal risk to the agency and client.
Job Summary
The Senior Business Affairs Manager is responsible for all business affairs responsibilities of film, radio, print and interactive productions for assigned clients. The Senior Business Affairs Manager works in lockstep with the Producer to handle productions from creative concepting through final client billing.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Production team during the bidding process to ensure the job is bid in accordance with client’s, cost-consultant’s and agency’s financial policies and procedures
- Review creative decks and scripts for potential legal issues, including clearance and licensing of third-party content, talent, music, etc.
- Review production company bids and prepare formal production estimates for client approval
- Prepare vendor production agreements; negotiate revisions and liaise with Legal as necessary
- Consult with Producers and Account Management on talent usage, generate casting specs and draft talent agreements
- Coordinate with Project Management/Account Management and Producer to define the production scope
- Track production costs and take action as needed on overages; work closely with the Producer in navigating the production budget
- Conduct preliminary trademark searches
- Review and approve vendor invoices and facilitate payments
- Issue music rights agreements
- License stock footage and images
- Assist producers in closing jobs for final billing
- Track and maintain meticulous records for all productions
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of related work experience in an agency or related business affairs/legal department
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training and/or experience
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of SAG Commercials Contract as well as other performance unions
- Advanced knowledge of talent engagement both in the US and abroad
- Willingness to learn new skills, systems and information
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while managing urgent deadlines
- Exceptional analytical, organizational and communication skills (verbal, written and listening) and ability to interact with all departments within the agency
- Ability to create efficiencies and process
- Strong ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and to mentor/instruct junior members of the team
- Legal experience or degree ideal
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
