Adafruit is looking to add a new team member to our IT Department. This is a full-time position, on-site, at our Adafruit New York location.
This entry-level position is responsible for resolving basic IT-related issues, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring employees can effectively use their technology resources. This position requires managing inventory documents and upkeep of the company's onsite equipment.
Adafruit Industries LLC was founded in 2005 by MIT engineer Limor "Ladyada" Fried. She aimed to create the best place online for learning electronics and make the best-designed products for makers of all ages and skill levels. Adafruit manufactures many of our products right here in our NYC factory where we have approximately 80+ employees.
The ideal candidate should possess the following traits & skills:
- Provide first-level support to end-users, troubleshooting technical issues, inquiries, and problems through effective communication in person or via email.
- Communicate technical information to non-technical users, assisting them in resolving issues effectively.
- Report, assign, and resolve all email requests through our ticketing system.
- Perform upkeep on all company printers, including ordering supplies, troubleshooting, and coordinating with external vendors if necessary.
- Set up Macbooks for first-time use and troubleshoot issues—schedule appointments with Apple for defective products.
- Keep all Windows stations on site up to date for each department's daily duties, which can include sometimes doing maintenance outside of normal working hours. This includes managing programs, security updates, and ensuring optimal performance.
- Monitor and update inventory logs, policy, and procedure documents via Google Drive.
- Assist users in resetting passwords and configuring accounts for new and existing employees.
- Contribute weekly notes for the company-wide meetings every Friday.
- Effective communication abilities, translating technical information for non-technical users.

Position is on site at Adafruit's New York location, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
