Adafruit is currently looking to add a new team member to the Gathering Department within the Shipping Group. This is a full-time position, on site, at our Adafruit New York location.

The primary responsibility of this position is to work through one customer invoice at a time, gathering products for orders and delivering them to shippers. Secondary responsibilities include: Quality Assurance of large orders and basic product prep work.

Adafruit Industries LLC was founded in 2005 by MIT engineer Limor "Ladyada" Fried. Her goal was to create the best place online for learning electronics and making the best designed products for makers of all ages and skill levels. Adafruit manufactures many of our own products right here in our Brooklyn, NY factory where we have approximately 80+ employees.

The ideal candidate should possess the following traits & skills:

• Previous experience with shipping preferred but not required

• Ability to be on one's feet for a majority of the day, able to lift and carry stacks of bins and boxes of varying sizes and able to lift varying weights up to 60 lbs

• Ability to reach high shelves for parts needed and bend to reach low shelves for parts needed

• Able to perform manual tedious tasks such as counting large quantities of products in a timely manner, labeling products, opening/closing of zip lock bags of various sizes and folding/building boxes of various sizes

• Attention to detail, ability to communicate clearly, able to prioritize overlapping tasks and work in a dynamic environment without being easily distracted

• Punctual, able to maintain a consistent work schedule and able to work independently

• A strong team player who alerts team members when potential issues arise, takes initiative and maintains a clean shared work environment
