The Adobe Connect Team is at the forefront of revolutionizing virtual communication and collaboration experiences. Adobe Connect is a leading web conferencing and online meeting platform, used by millions of professionals globally to connect, communicate, and collaborate seamlessly. As a Software Development Engineer 5 (SRE) within the Adobe Connect Team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our platform.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **System Architecture and Design:** Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and reliable infrastructure solutions for Adobe Connect.
2. **Automation and Tooling:** Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts for deployment, monitoring, and incident response to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
3. **Monitoring and Alerting:** Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal performance and availability of Adobe Connect services.
4. **Incident Management:** Lead incident response efforts, investigate and troubleshoot system outages, performance degradation, and other operational issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on users.
5. **Capacity Planning:** Analyze system performance metrics and forecast capacity requirements to support the growth of Adobe Connect services effectively.
6. **Continuous Improvement:** Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the reliability, scalability, and performance of Adobe Connect services, leveraging best practices and emerging technologies.
7. **Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:** Create and maintain detailed documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles to facilitate effective collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams.
8. **Technical Leadership:** Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the SRE team.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 14+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a related role.
- Strong proficiency in designing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems in a cloud environment
- Expertise in automation using scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SALT, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Deep understanding of networking, storage, and virtualization technologies.
- Proven track record of leading incident response efforts and driving post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience with Adobe Connect or other web conferencing platforms.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $155,400 -- $278,200 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
