We are seeking a full-time Senior Android Engineer to join our dynamic Mobile Engineering team and report directly to the Mobile Engineering Manager. This role is ideal for engineers who are fluent in Kotlin and Java, take self-initiative, exhibit leadership qualities, and work well in a fast-paced environment. We support initiatives that are driven by engineering and expect engineers with strong technical and communication skills to market ideas across teams and get buy-in from the product team on those initiatives.

You will be encouraged to adopt new Android features and technologies as they emerge from Google.io yearly, with dedicated time for streaming sessions and making roadmap recommendations. You will be encouraged to adopt new Android features and technologies as they arise. You will also help build SDKs for publishing and showing Behance content in flagship apps such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and Fresco. You will work closely with product, design, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to develop a high-quality product.

What you'll do

  • Architect, Develop, Build, and Maintain high-quality Android applications using Kotlin & Java.

  • Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code, ensuring performance, quality, and responsiveness.

  • Implement and follow Modern Android Development (MAD) practices, including MVVM, Clean architecture, Jetpack components, Navigation Components, etc.

  • Experience with GraphQL, Unit tests, CI/CD pipelines and automation tools etc.

  • Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (eg, coding standards, style guidelines, accuracy, efficiency, scalability, etc).

  • Build and Maintain internal SDK that is consumed by multiple products across flagship Adobe apps (such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and Fresco).

  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to define, design, and ship new visionary features.

  • Mentor and guide junior team engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative development environment.

  • Seek out new/upcoming technologies and cost-saving initiatives in a fast-paced setting without compromising product requirements and quality.

What you need to succeed

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years of experience delivering customer-facing software through the Google Play Store, citing specific listings and contributions.

  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java.

  • Expertise in Modern Android Development best practices, industry-leading design methodologies, GraphQL to connect app to back-end services, etc

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD (e.g., CircleCI, Jenkins, etc.), and Automation tools.

  • Consciousness around accessibility and localization best practices.

  • Strong interpersonal effectiveness and a desire to lead and mentor team members in a non-managerial leadership role.

  • Ability to read data represented in visual forms in Mode Analytics.

  • Experience in Agile Development methodologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $154,000 -- $278,800 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
