What you’ll be doing

The Engineering Manager's responsibility is primarily their team. They need to be able to balance their three key responsibilities: recruiting and hiring great people, developing and mentoring each person that reports into them, and assisting their team to build and ship the best product in whatever means possible.Building and retaining an incredible team that lives our values

  • Improving the productivity and happiness of your team
  • Holding weekly 1:1's and mentoring and supporting the professional development of team members
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and ensuring the Infrastructure team enables and accelerates product engineering
  • Defining quarterly goals and team KPIs and managing projects to meet them
  • Identifying and eliminating bottlenecks
  • Ensuring our cloud infrastructure meets demand, adheres to audit controls, and is built to scale globally

Who we're looking for

We are looking for an engineering manager that is passionate about building scalable and resilient infrastructure while championing collaboration and engineering enablement. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience managing an infrastructure, platform, or devops team in a high growth company with strict security requirements.

  • You have expert level knowledge of AWS (professional or specialty cert or equivalent experience).

  • You’ve implemented solutions for deploying applications to Kubernetes and managed clusters in production.

  • You have 7+ years of full time experience in devops, infrastructure, platform, or SRE roles with at least 2 of those years as a manager.

  • Strong experience managing multiple projects and balancing competing priorities.

  • You are familiar with SOC2, ISO-27001, and PCI compliance.

  • You are pragmatic; you can justify when to build and when to buy.

  • You’ve implemented and used tools like Datadog, Splunk, or Newrelic to find where the latency in distributed systems is coming from, then proposed and implemented solutions to reduce that latency.

  • You’ve participated in and managed on-call rotations.

The following range is based on the scoped level within the organization and only for highly targeted geographies: 196k - 230k
