SG&D is the growth and development engine for Amazon Selling Partners (SPs) WW. Leveraging science partnerships across Amazon, we catalyze SP growth with comprehensive and accurate data, unique insights, and actionable recommendations and collaborate with WW SP facing teams to drive adoption and create feedback loops. We strongly believe that any motivated SP should be able to grow their businesses and reach their full potential by using our scaled, automated, and self-service tools.

SG&D amplifies the growth trajectory of any Selling Partner WW through scaled and self-service software solutions. To achieve that, we provide SPs with ground truth data about what end-customers seek, leverage science to create insights about their businesses, and produce recommendations on where opportunity exists, in a unified and seamless experience. One of the products is Business Reports, which helps SPs understand their real time business performance, traffic and offer status and what their opportunities are and actions they can take. We are looking for a highly motivated Software Development Manager in managing the engineering team, working closely with PM, UX, Science, Seller Growth Consulting teams to build top-notch seller facing application ABA to provide actionable insights to improve SPs' business.

Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Manager at Amazon, you will take your technical experience to a new level by leading a team of engineers to deliver seller facing applications with generated insights/recommendations. In the primary scope of this role you and your team will own highly reliable, highly performant real time systems, as well as building highly interactive UI and API for external sellers. This role will allow you to push the boundaries of what sellers can achieve through the applications you build.

Ideal candidates will use their experience to clearly communicate and translate requirements into elegant solutions. You will work in a responsive, flexible and collaborative peer environment with various roles, like Scientist, UX, PM and Seller Consultant.

A day in the life
You will be a part of an agile development team following innovative best practices in software development where you'll lead a team on technical designs and architecture. To build our seller facing applications, you will interact with various roles of different skillsets, including PM, Scientist, UX, Seller Consultant to gather requirements, support feasibility analysis and to provide technical solutions to provide highly accurate data insight generation and top-notch UI/API. One of the important aspects of the role is to develop the best, and you’ll have opportunities to build a team and mentor others by sharing your knowledge across multiple teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
- Track record of developing engineers through various career stages and building high-performance teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience building highly scalable, available, and low-latency systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $148,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
