The Amazon Fresh Grocery Retail Inbound team is seeking an exceptional Manager of Instock Management with experience in people management plus: vendor management, supply chain management, or inventory/business analysis. In order to be successful in this position, you need to be comfortable coaching and developing your team, driving business decisions in an ambiguous work environment, interfacing and coordinating with various functional teams both internally and externally, and driving results through both quantitative and qualitative strategies with your directs. A successful Manager, Instock Management candidate will be highly analytical, resourceful, customer focused, team oriented, and will have an ability to work with data independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. You will have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. The team's work includes a mix of long-term strategic projects and short-term tactical tasks in the supply chain space.

Key job responsibilities
· Manage and continuously develop a high performing team of full-time, salaried employees
· Influence technical teams to drive adoption of standards and creation of tools to manage: inventory health, item-level forecasting, purchase order quality, vendor self-service, and supply chain operations
· Work with internal stakeholders in category management, category instock, supply chain, operations, and product management to collaborate on supply chain improvement initiatives
· Work with CPG manufacturers to prioritize our customer experience by optimizing the shared supply chain, reducing defects, and driving results
· Enhance long-term relationships, working on cost to serve reductions and reducing vendor pain points
· Identify automation opportunities, improve non-automated processes, and build to scale.
· Developing plans that drive revenue and margin improvement with vendors
· Build the tech roadmap with vendors and drive implementation of tech initiatives to improve forecasting, buying, reporting, and operations processes
· Building and maintaining knowledge management tools

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of professional or military experience, or 10 years professional experience
3+ years managing full-time, salaried employees
5+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience
Superior analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to dive in and quickly understand root cause
Excellent business judgment and strong written and oral communication skills
Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

MBA with a quantitative focus, or advanced degrees in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems
Experience with SQL
Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
Curiosity to dig several layers deep into metrics, have an innate desire to understand key drivers and whether they are the correct or best metrics to measure/manage a business or process
Ability to influence cross-functional and technical teams
Experience managing and executing large projects from start to finish, including project management, data gathering and modeling, problem solving, and communicating recommendations
Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $112,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $208,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
