DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented attorney to work on privacy and customer trust matters at Amazon Ads, an exciting, rapidly evolving business.

This role provides the unique opportunity to support Amazon in the still-developing, complex world of privacy and customer trust across a range of diverse and innovative products. You will help launch new programs, manage org-wide projects, and guide senior business leaders on a variety of privacy and other regulatory and customer trust matters.

This position requires great judgment, backbone, and common sense, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills, and great attention to detail. We are looking for candidates who are innovative, extremely hands-on, and customer-obsessed.

Key job responsibilities
- Supporting a wide range of privacy and customer trust programs across Amazon Ads, including in support of new product launches and new legal requirements;
- Day-to-day interaction with senior leaders, business lawyers, policy experts, and product and tech teams;
- Outside counsel management;
- Assistance with regulatory, press, and other external inquiries and engagements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of legal experience (with at least two years at a law firm) as an attorney, preferably with some portion of that experience in technology, privacy, or related regulatory matters
- J.D. and membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience advising on privacy and data protection matters
- Ability to demonstrate great judgment even in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
- Ability to build rapport with and earn trust of business partners
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines
- Strong written and oral communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
