DESCRIPTION

Amazon Advertising seeks a Business Intelligence Engineer with strong analytical and technical skills to join the Deals and Third Party Ads Supply Finance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions for internal stakeholders within the Finance organization supporting third party ads supply and programmatic deals businesses. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, understanding their unique business needs, and delivering impactful insights that drive success. To be successful in this role, you need to be a proven engineer, diligent task manager, communicator, and problem solver.


Key job responsibilities
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity; dives deep into data to find the root cause of problems, creates action plans to take advantage of business opportunities, is detail oriented and has the ability to work well with cross-functional teams including product development, sales, other finance teams, and senior leaders.
Core Responsibilities
• Build data pipelines to enable new metrics; Create and track key advertiser, publisher and supply metrics.
• Build data systems that leverage diverse data sources to provide a comprehensive view of product adoption across all customer segments.
• Conduct cohort level analyses; develop growth and retention monitoring dashboards.
• Present findings and recommendations to business leadership.
• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting/ analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.


A day in the life
If you enjoy using analytical skills to shape strategy and build new initiatives from concept to full-scale operations this will be a good match. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to develop deep industry understanding, create key performance indicators, analyze monetization strategies to maximize revenue, and provide valuation guidance for feature roadmap prioritization and decision-making. This position will collaborate with business and finance stakeholders on a daily basis and will be providing business insights into key initiatives.


About the team
The Deals and Third Party Ads Supply Finance team is responsible for driving key mechanisms that support the rhythm of the ADSP Deals and Ads 3P Supply businesses. We generate insights to guide product and business development strategy. We also provide direct business partnership and ongoing business performance measurement support to senior leaders.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

New York, NY, USA | Palo Alto, CA, USA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative field
- Experience with data querying or modeling with SQL
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
- Experience gathering business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tool(s) to extract data, formulate metrics and build reports
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience building and maintaining basic data artifacts (e.g., ETL, data models, queries)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
- Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis
- Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $65,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
