DESCRIPTION

Amazon’s US Stores legal team is seeking a Corporate Counsel to support our Search and Conversation Shopping business. The attorney will provide legal guidance on cutting edge product and service launches, regulatory issues, and advice on compliance-related initiatives for their business partners.

Key job responsibilities
• Support business leaders as lead counsel on product decisions
• Counsel on regulatory matters
• Provide day-to-day, customer-focused advice
• Handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries
• Occasional travel will be required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• A J.D. degree and active membership in at least one state bar
• 5+ years of experience practicing law

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with privacy, consumer protection, and advertising regulation and compliance
• Prior litigation and regulatory experience
• Retail legal and in-house experience are both a plus
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently while also contributing to cross-functional and international teams
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and computer skills
• Sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a large number of projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines
• Team player and consensus builder who can effectively collaborate and build relationships with attorneys and business leaders throughout the organization.
• Business acumen combined with the ability to identify optimal solutions, including novel, creative and innovative solutions to complex issues.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
