Join us at the cutting edge of Amazon's sustainability initiatives to work on environmental and social advancements to support Amazon's long term worldwide sustainability strategy. At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people.
The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) organization capitalizes on Amazon’s scale and speed to build a more resilient and sustainable company. We manage our social and environmental impacts globally, and drive solutions that enable our customers, businesses, and the world to become more sustainable.
We are looking for a Social Responsibility Program Manager to lead supplier qualification and improvement programs that scale with Amazon's growing business and supplier base. This role will be expected to manage, evaluate and onboard Industry Association Audit programs that drive compliance with Amazon's labor standards, while reducing business costs.
The Program Manager will be expected to handle day-to-day issues (constantly thinking about how to invent and simplify), but will also be expected to strategize on longer-term, program-wide initiatives.
A strong candidate for this role is an innovative, detail-oriented professional who is highly organized, has a problem-solving mindset, and is an excellent communicator. They will have a strong background in operations, quality mechanisms, exceptional project management skills, and experience impacting change across internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have experience working across teams and organizations to manage initiative lifecycles, and influence decisions with business, technology and the industry associations.
The candidate is comfortable working with third-parties, implementing operational changes between them and our internal systems and collaborate and drive improvement on quality programs. Familiarity with major social auditing standards like SMETA and BSCI is required, and experience as an auditor or SA8000 certification is preferred. Have a demonstrated ability to engage strategically with peer brands, actively participate in industry association initiatives, and help raise the bar across the social responsibility auditing industry.
Key job responsibilities
- Driving key components of WWSR''s largest assessment program and ensuring global processes and existing workflows are optimized and contain continuous improvement mechanisms.
- Work closely with WWSR Global Solutions and Risk Compliance teams in Bangalore and Shenzhen and provide support and feedback on your program’s processes.
- Support setting up operational processes and quality mechanisms for new WWSR initiatives.
- Use operational expertise to improve reporting mechanisms to highlight gaps and outliers.
- Identify and capture KPIs to measure process quality and providing meaningful feedback to stakeholders.
- Collaborate directly with external stakeholders (Industry Associations, Audit Firms) to implement operational changes and address quality concerns.
- Engage strategically with peer brands to identify gaps in the social responsibility auditing industry, and participate in industry-wide initiatives to raise the bar on audit programs.
