Are you interested in AI technologies and contribute to its success by creating high quality and effective data collection strategies and operational plans?

AWS Bedrock Data Team is looking for a strong Senior Technical Program Manager who can lead the team to collect and deliver high quality data sets for our highly sophisticated AI programs.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager on the team, you will work with multiple teams to help solve complex technical solutions aimed to build and improve our AI products. You will have a direct influence on the data science and collection strategies as well as the overall operations.



Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidates would be
* Have strong written and verbal communication skills
* Lead a team of data annotation specialists, providing technical guidance on annotation process, tools, and quality control. Ensure team has proper training and resources.
* Work with engineering teams to understand AI model requirements and determine optimal data annotation strategies. Provide technical expertise on annotation schema, taxonomy, and guidelines.
* Partner with business stakeholders to align annotation priorities and roadmap with overall business goals. Understand commercial objectives and translate them into technical implementation plans.
* Monitor annotation throughput, quality, and costs. Analyze trends and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements through process optimization, tooling enhancements, or contractor management.
* Stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and best practices in data annotation for machine learning. Continuously refine annotation playbook and share knowledge across teams.
* Develop and manage budgets, timelines, and resource plans for annotation projects. Balance speed, cost, and quality trade-offs.
* Implement quality assurance practices and metrics to ensure high-quality training data. Audit samples, provide feedback to annotators, and oversee rework.
* Evaluate and select annotation vendors/contractors. Define statements of work, manage relationships, and monitor performance.
* Work cross-functionally across data science, engineering, and product teams to ensure annotation outputs meet downstream needs.

A day in the life
As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will ensure consensus across functional teams. You will get status updates on current annotation projects and any issues that may have come up, discuss launch plans for upcoming annotation projects and resources needed, connects with internal stakeholders to align on requirements and goals for new initiatives in the pipeline. You provide guidance to the annotation team leads on best practices and workflows, developing documentation, updating project plans, and preparing program status for leadership. You diligently summarize action items and next steps to ensure all work streams are progressing forward with clear owners and timeline.

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
