DESCRIPTION

The AWS Data Foundations product marketing team is hiring a senior product marketing manager to develop crisp, highly differentiated, and compelling positioning and messaging for AWS and its data services. We tell AWS’s most important and interesting stories to educate customers about what is possible when you build on AWS.

As a Senior Product Marketing Manager for AWS Data Foundations, you will have the opportunity to define and drive the marketing strategy for one of the rapidly growing data businesses including storage, analytics, data lake, and data warehouse services. You will be creating compelling content to help customers understand the use cases and value propositions, and building the right marketing programs to drive customer engagement and service adoption. You will also work with the product teams to shape the product vision and prioritize features. You will get to work on a rapidly growing business and have a big impact every day.

You will have proven product marketing experience with data centric products at a public cloud or SaaS company, or across early- and mid-stage tech businesses.

Key job responsibilities
• Own messaging and position of key AWS Data services from storage, analytics, data processing, data warehouse

• Collaborate with AWS product and engineering teams to distill key functionality and benefits of major launches into product marketing messages.

• Engage with AWS field and digital marketing teams to identify and integrate joint messaging and content into lead generation, customer engagement, and product adoption focused marketing programs.

• Craft and develop compelling audience and initiative specific messages and tools (product videos, collateral specific to different audiences or campaigns, demos, presentations, how to guides, etc.)

• Work with sales to ready our general and specialized sales teams on our joint value propositions and messaging.

• Test and refine new marketing approaches and channels to reach and engage key audiences

A day in the life
The product marketing team works on creating compelling positioning and marketing content to support product launches and campaigns that will help customers do more with their data on AWS. We all have a bias for action for developing awesome marketing assets (e.g., website, videos, success stories, blogs, presentations, print collateral, sales enablement tools, etc.). We look for ways to measure the impact of our work on service adoptions. We transition from working on strategic plans or creative ideation to detailed execution, multiple times per day.

We all work together and pick each other up when workloads shift. This helps us manage workloads and juggle multiple priorities to execute high quality deliverables. We enjoy supporting a fast-paced and highly cross-functional organization.

About the team
Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
- Experience leading go-to-market for consumer software or hardware product launches
- Experience prior success in driving execution of large-scale project plans with multiple teams in support of business goals
- Data storage or analytics product marketing experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with customer segmentation, profiling, and targeting
- Experience communicating results to stakeholders
- Experience in marketing or marketing research
- Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
