The Ads Security organization at Amazon is dedicated to creating innovative technical solutions that detect, assess, and mitigate security risks within Amazon’s Advertising businesses. Our vision is to accelerate the development velocity of the Advertising business by ensuring that our products are inherently secure.
We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to define and drive the technical vision for expansive security solutions. In this role, you will lead the design and development of innovative security tooling, infrastructure, and frameworks to improve the overall security posture of Amazon’s Ads business. You will work across a wide range of domains, from building scalable tools for vulnerability detection and risk mitigation to creating paved paths that simplify secure development for engineering teams.

Key job responsibilities
* Design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure software solutions to protect Amazon’s Ads business and customer data.
* Define and implement technical roadmaps for security tooling and frameworks, addressing current and future security needs.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Security, to align on strategic objectives and deliver impactful results.
* Develop innovative tools to detect and mitigate vulnerabilities, enforce compliance, and streamline secure development practices.
* Lead design reviews and ensure adherence to security, performance, and scalability standards.
* Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
* Create reusable patterns, libraries, and APIs to standardize and simplify secure development for engineering teams.
* Monitor and report key performance metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of security initiatives.
* Provide on-call support for tier-1 services to ensure reliability and rapid incident response.

* Design, develop, and maintain core functionality across products, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
* Drive technical direction and architecture of large, complex software systems, identifying opportunities to improve stability, performance, security, and implementing innovative solutions.
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Security Engineers, Privacy, Legal, internal technical teams, and leadership, to define business opportunities and drive end-to-end solutions.
* Coach, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
* Provide technical expertise and leadership throughout product lifecycles, promoting best practices and operational excellence for large-scale production services.
