Amazon is seeking a talented Corporate Development professional who will contribute to the generation, management and execution of strategic initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, investments, and commercial partnership activities across a broad range of Amazon's businesses, including healthcare, media, advertising and our consumer marketplace. This professional will be a key business partner to senior leadership and will be highly visible at the most senior levels of Amazon. Intellectual rigor and strong analytical and writing skills are must-haves. The ideal candidate enjoys diving deep into complex problems, makes convincing, data-based arguments, works effectively with a broad range of constituents, and thrives in a high-stakes, fast-paced and dynamic environment.
The selected candidate thoughtfully balances independent contributions with collaboration, and will be part of a small team that values continuous learning and improvement. Over time, this candidate will grow into a primary contact for business units and senior leaders by conducting insightful industry research, quantitative analyses, and due diligence. They will have the opportunity to build relationships in and outside of Amazon and gain exposure to high-value decision-making at one of the world’s most compelling companies.
Key job responsibilities
• Writing a range of key documents, including strategy docs and PRFAQs, company/deal narratives, email updates, approval docs and Board docs
• Acting as a subject matter expert on selected industries and potential investment targets, including recent developments, transactions, valuations and diligence
• Evaluating the benefits and risks of potential transactions
• Leading all pre-transaction diligence efforts
• Supporting deal-related negotiations and bringing transactions over the finish line
• Partnering with senior leaders and businesses to evaluate expansion opportunities
• Working with business and functional teams within Amazon through completed integration and beyond, as appropriate
• Identifying new opportunities that support Amazon's strategic priorities
