We're seeking an experienced and strategic content marketer to join the Amazon Ads Small and Medium Business (SMB) Marketing team as the Senior Content Marketing Manager, Events. If you're passionate about crafting compelling narratives, developing impactful content strategies for the stage, and elevating how we communicate with SMBs through events, we want to hear from you.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the content and storytelling of how Amazon Ads shows up on stages across our entire events portfolio. Your work will impact event success outcomes across our entire event portfolio, from high-visibility tentpole events like Amazon Accelerate, to industry and local in-market events reaching main street business owners. You will work across diverse cross-functional teams to lead the calendar and production of content for these moments, including product marketing, product, marketing, and sales teams. You directly own content development for highly visible strategic SMB events, and work with internal staff and consultants to ensure all content at events is produced on-time and up to our high caliber. You will work directly with all speakers, ranging from external advertising customers to senior leaders, on content development and speaker preparation. You will collaborate with event producers and marketers to ensure our messaging from the stage is amplified throughout our entire event strategy, including pre- and post-event communications.

You are excited about bringing business strategies to life through storytelling, using data and industry trends to deliver engaging and inspiring customer experiences at events, and scaling best practices for on-stage storytelling across teams. This position demands a versatile leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at translating data into actionable insights, and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You seek to work autonomously, handling multiple initiatives simultaneously, and prioritizing accordingly to contribute to ambitious growth plans.
Key job responsibilities
- Event content strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy across the Amazon Ads SMB event portfolio, ensuring cohesive storytelling and messaging across all SMB-focused events.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (e.g. product marketing, product, sales, and marketing) to align on key messages and produce content across events to reach business goals, solve customer problems, and build consideration for Amazon Ads
- Customer and partner storytelling: Identify and cultivate relationships with customers and partners (and their stakeholder teams) who can effectively tell success stories and provide testimonials at events.
- Content development: Directly lead the creation of high-quality, engaging content for keynotes and other high-visibility stage sessions.
- Content management: Work with both internal teams and external consultants (writers, designers, producers, agencies) to ensure all content for breakout sessions is developed on time and with excellence. Identify, hire, and manage any external consultants required for execution. Identify, test, and implement tools and practices to improve quality and efficiency.
- Speaker training program: Coach content developers and speakers through content production schedule and table reads and rehearsals. Manage and expand the speaker training program within SMB marketing, collaborating with counterparts in other departments to build a strong bench of speakers and improve content delivery.
- Stakeholder management: Effectively communicate and manage projects across a wide range of stakeholders, including executive speakers, external talent, and internal stakeholders e.g. product marketing, product, sales)
- Performance measurement: Identify success metrics, measure the impact of event content initiatives, gather feedback, and leverage insights to continuously improve strategies.
- Quality control: Ensure all event content meets Amazon's high standards for quality, accuracy, and brand consistency, managing legal and PR approvals as necessary. Continuously identify and implement new formats, processes, and tools to create more compelling and engaging event content.
- Budget management: Oversee the content development budget for events, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximum impact.

The global SMB (Small and Medium Businesses) marketing team serves sales unmanaged advertisers globally. Our mission is twofold: 1) Grow Amazon Ads awareness & consideration amongst SMBs globally 2) Drive sponsored ads demand for the self service (SSO) channel.
