Love food? We do! The Amazon Grocery Logistics Finance (AGLF) Analytics team is seeking an experienced and innovative Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to help shape the future of grocery logistics.

Amazon Grocery Logistics (AGL) comprises of Grocery Fulfillment Centers (GFC), Grocery Stores (GS), Distribution Center (DC) Operations, Customer Experience Operations (CXO) and Whole Foods Market Grocery Delivery & Pickup (WFM GDP). The AGL Finance Analytics (FIRE) team focuses on cost and finance metrics for these businesses. As operations for these businesses expands globally at a rapid pace, this role will be needed to support building scalable analytical solutions. This endeavor will allow us to recommend adjustments of cost and other financial levers to upstream partner teams in order to maintain customer experience.

The BIE role will help define and create the next generation of deep dive and performance metrics visibility tools. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Define and develop business/finance critical metrics and reports across all business levers, key performance indicators, and financials
• Own key executive reports and metrics that are consumed by AGL leadership
• Provide thought leadership in business deep dives
• Deliver automation solutions to drive productivity and efficiency for AGL Finance/Operations teams
• Work closely with AGL Finance and Operations leadership to help them meet their objectives
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and insights and present written business recommendations to the leadership in a clear and compelling way
• Analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience writing complex SQL queries
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business
- Experience with forecasting and statistical analysis
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Proven problem solving skills, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
