GTM Engineer

About Barndoor
Most enterprises aren't struggling to find AI tools. They're struggling to deploy them safely, govern them at scale, and trust what they're doing in production. Barndoor is the infrastructure layer that makes that possible. We're a fast-growing startup at the forefront of enterprise GenAI infrastructure. We help enterprises unlock the next era of AI by turning untapped potential into production reality, through a thoughtful approach to access, security, and scalability. Our platform empowers enterprises to securely adopt, govern, and scale AI agents and the complex workflows they power.
Our founding team helped shape past technology revolutions, from pioneering secure API management during the rise of mobile apps to driving enterprise adoption across Fortune 500 companies. That experience now powers a new foundation for AI: one built for control, reliability, and real-world deployment, helping enterprises securely deploy, govern, and scale AI agents in production. At our core, we're a team of builders and curious problem-solvers, fulfilling our mission to make AI safer, more responsible, and truly enterprise-ready.
The Impact
This role sits at the center of how Barndoor turns pipeline into revenue, pairing commercial instinct with real engineering to build the systems that find, qualify, and convert our best-fit customers. You'll own the GTM engineering stack end to end, from intent signals and enrichment through AI-driven personalization for outbound to the dashboards leadership uses to drive decisions and investment. You'll partner daily with sales, marketing, and engineering to ship systems that measurably move pipeline and revenue in a fast-moving, technical enterprise security market.
The Role
We're looking for a GTM Engineer who thinks like both a marketer and a seller, and builds like an engineer. You'll be responsible for revenue operations at Barndoor, and for increasing the speed and leverage of our go-to-market motion by building AI-powered workflows, automations, and tools on top of Salesforce, HubSpot, Clay, and the rest of our GTM stack. You're fluent in intent data and enrichment tools like Clay, comfortable writing code to automate workflows and integrations, and just as at home in a room with marketers as you are with engineers. You take ambiguous, not-fully-scoped problems and turn them into shipped systems, and you measure your own work by the pipeline and revenue it generates.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship AI-powered workflows, automations, and internal tools that change how sales and CS work day to day.
- Automate enrichment and data capture across Salesforce, HubSpot, Clay, and similar tools, keep CRM data clean, and build the dashboards that make the numbers usable.
- Build lead scoring and intent models based on real buying signals, so reps spend time on accounts likely to close.
- Build outbound automation that personalizes messaging using firmographic and behavioral data.
- Find your own projects: talk to frontline sales, CS, and RevOps to find friction and build a pipeline of things worth fixing.
- Own CRM data hygiene and modeling so GTM systems stay a trustworthy source of truth for the revenue org.
- Build and maintain pipeline and revenue dashboards that give sales, marketing, and leadership a shared view of what's working.
Experience & Background
- 5+ years in RevOps, marketing ops, demand gen, or sales engineering with some experience or demonstrated skills as a GTM Engineer.
- Fluency with AI tools and emerging automation capabilities, along with genuine curiosity about how to apply them in practical ways to improve business operations.
- Hands-on experience with intent data and enrichment tools like Clay and Apollo.
- Working knowledge of SQL plus at least one language (Python or TypeScript most common) for automation and integrations.
- Administration experience in Salesforce or HubSpot, and API/webhook-based integration work.
- Deep understanding of the B2B sales cycle (enterprise and self-serve), and how GTM systems actually influence revenue.
Nice to Have
- You can write and maintain code (Python, JavaScript, or similar) to automate workflows and build integrations.
- You know your way around API design and webhooks.
- You've done solutions or sales engineering in a customer-facing role. You've used ABM platforms before.
- You've built an AI workflow or automation that measurably moved pipeline or revenue.
- You've worked on GTM systems for a cybersecurity, identity, or other B2B software company.
This is a long list, and yes, it reads a bit like a wishlist for a mythical creature. We don't expect anyone to check every box. If you're strong across most of this and have a track record of picking up what you don't know, apply. We'll close the gaps together
What we value in this role
- Systems thinking: you see the whole funnel, not just your piece of it, and design for how the parts connect.
- Commercial fluency: you understand sales cycles and funnels well enough to know why a system needs to exist, not just how to build it.
- High-ownership builder mentality: you're comfortable taking something half-scoped and shipping it end to end, with real autonomy over how you build it and what you prioritize next.
- Cross-functional communication: you translate cleanly between commercial and technical teams without losing either one.
- Bias toward iteration: you'd rather automate the manual fix than repeat it, and you measure success by pipeline moved, not process followed.
Working at Barndoor
- Hybrid role: 2–3 days per week in our New York office to support close collaboration with the GTM team.
- Periodic travel for company offsites ~ every 8-10 weeks.
- We move fast and value and prioritize the time we can come together in person.
- Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits
We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees with disabilities. If you need an accommodation during the application process, please let us know.
