The Team:

The Public Cloud Container Infrastructure team is responsible for building the next-generation container solution for Bloomberg engineering that runs in the Public Cloud! Our mission is to develop an enterprise-grade solution powered by Kubernetes and other container technologies; with security, resiliency, and SRE principles in mind.

As a central team, we strive to enable application teams to deploy their containerized workloads to the public cloud using open-source technologies and industry standard processes.

The Role:

We will present you with challenges and opportunities that can further enhance your abilities in SRE, software development, and platform engineering!

Being part of a central infrastructure team will give you transparency into many of the business areas in the company. Your contributions will play a role in the success of many different groups.

You will join a team at an early stage, and this will allow you to make impactful decisions and work on various greenfield initiatives.

You will work with various Open Source technologies such as Kubernetes, Kyverno, Calico, and Terraform and will have the opportunity to contribute back to them.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Develop an enterprise-grade solution powered by Kubernetes and other container technologies.
  • Manage Kubernetes at an enterprise scale.
  • Ensure the security and high availability of Kubernetes clusters.
  • Create Kubernetes Terraform Modules, patterns, and building blocks for the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with the different application teams to enable them to deploy containers to the various Cloud Services Providers.
  • Work with Kubernetes and Container registries in major cloud providers.
  • Collaborate with security teams to keep our workflows and solutions at an industry-grade security standard.

You’ll need to have:

  • 4+ years of experience in object-oriented programming (Python or Golang).
  • BA, BS, MS, Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technology field.
  • Experience managing infrastructure in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform, CDK and AWS Cloud Formation.
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes and related technologies such as Helm, Kustomize, Kubectl, Eksctl, Calico and Kyverno.
  • Proficiency in architecting highly scalable and highly available distributed systems.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with other teams and partners.
  • An approach to build tools and solutions in collaboration with developers to simplify their workflows.

We’d love to see:

  • Familiarity with Typescript.
  • AWS Certifications.
  • Kubernetes Certifications.
  • Experience working in a multi-cloud environment.
  • Solid understanding of networking.
  • Experience triaging and supporting systems in production.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux systems.

Salary Range: 160,000 - 240,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
