Bloomberg Media is looking for an individual with a proactive attitude who is focused, flexible, and proficient in several aspects of broadcast operations, and who can work collaboratively in a live control room and studio environment. This individual will be expected to provide coverage in multiple operator roles, such as sliding breaks, operating robotic cameras, and painting feeds, work collaboratively in the control room and live studio environments. They will be required to work with on-air talent, engineering, and editorial teams, as well as their global counterparts to ensure quality visual production on an overnight basis.
We'll trust you to:
- Move quickly and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced broadcast environment.
- Collaborate with the technical team and editorial personnel to ensure a quality visual presentation to our audience.
- Operate, frame, and shade robotic cameras in a multicamera studio setup.
- Operate a live broadcast graphics rundown, firing lower-third and full screen graphics while communicating with control room crew and editorial colleagues.
- Load set panoramas to video wall engines in NY and our global studio surfaces. Assign graphic elements into appropriate channels to be routed into video surfaces in coordination with the other control room positions. Change graphics in the wall engines as cued by technical and editorial personnel.
- Follow along with breaking news developments, working quickly to match relevant graphics with the on-air conversation as they become available.
- Understand the flow and composition of a live news broadcast.
- An ability to complete tasks with a high level of accuracy under tight deadlines in high pressure situations
- Communicate with Operations Team Leads on issues that will impact the team and broadcasts.
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or 2 years of experience working in a live TV environment
- Willingness to work an overnight shift regularly (7pm-4am)
- Familiarity with the dynamics of a live studio and control room environment
- Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
We'd Love To See:
- Experience with multi-camera rack
- Knowledge of RTS intercom systems
- Knowledge of camera robotic systems
