Our Team
Bloomberg's Global Sustainability Office (GSO) is responsible for the development and execution of Bloomberg's enterprise-wide sustainability strategy, program implementation, and external reporting. The GSO collaborates across the business under a robust governance structure to set comprehensive ESG-related objectives, targets and action plans that drive the business towards its global sustainability commitments.
What’s The Role?
The successful candidate will support Bloomberg's voluntary and mandatory sustainability reporting efforts. In this role, you will ensure our compliance with sustainability regulations, prepare sustainability reports, and coordinate accurate data reporting. You will develop strategies to engage market stakeholders and highlight Bloomberg’s sustainability efforts.
We’ll trust you to:
- Monitor national and international environmental regulations, standards, and industry best practices. Propose enhancements internal sustainability policies and strategies to ensure compliance and proactive alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Support in the preparation and publication of mandatory and voluntary sustainability reports, ensuring rigorous adherence to industry standards and requirements.
- Collaborate with our internal Data Governance function to ensure accurate data is reported externally.
- Develop and execute strategies to engage with external stakeholders. Track market trends and regulatory changes to inform the company’s sustainability reporting strategy
- Respond to external inquiries and manage stakeholder feedback regarding sustainability performance.
You’ll Need to Have
- Minimum of 8 years of experience specifically in sustainability reporting
- Proven track record of developing and executing sustainability reporting strategies.
- The capability of fostering relationships with new and existing stakeholders as well building an internal network. Experience supporting senior level and client conversations.
- Proven experience with key sustainability industry standards such as GRI, ISSB/SASB, GHG Protocol, SBTI, and CDP and key sustainability regulations
- Experience with third party ESG reporting software
- Ability to deliver effectively under pressure and maintain a high degree of professionalism.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data.
- Outstanding presentation, training, and written/verbal communication skills in English and the ability to present complex concepts effectively both internally and externally to groups of varying sizes.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to operate within both departmental and company-wide initiatives
- Strong multi-tasking skills, and the ability to be a self-starter that fosters collaboration and builds on a strong culture of teamwork.
- We'd love to see:
- Master's degree in, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Economics, Public Policy, Engineering, Mathematics, MBA, or related field preferred/CFA or CAIA designation
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and demonstrated applied data analysis skills, with proficiency using Excel
- Ability to read/write in a language other than English
- Previous work experience with the Bloomberg Terminal
