We're looking for a BI China Internet, AI & Software Research Associate based in Hong Kong. You would be part of this expanding team and responsible for supporting the China Technology team in Asia. The Associate Analyst on the team will focus significantly on supporting the franchise with financial modeling, generating insights, writing, and conducting investment research. The analysis will be based on company financial data, industry leading data, Bloomberg's data sets, financial models as well as issuer calls and announcements.
We'll trust you to:
- Actively contribute to the team’s daily research activities (i.e. data aggregation, financial modeling, written research, idea generation)
- Monitor and interpret company developments and identify macro themes and trends affecting the sector
- Manage significant data analysis and modeling responsibilities; synthesize the results, draw conclusions and develop concise narratives that communicate the story behind the data
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal departments throughout Bloomberg as well as external company, industry and data professionals; participate in department-wide special projects
- Work with other data and core business groups to help develop and enhance content and functionality across the terminal
- Interact with clients via our online messaging systems. Review submitted research for adherence to global quality standards
You'll need to have:
- Graduated with a bachelor’s degree, preferably in science, mathematics, engineering or a related subject. Candidates should have a genuine passion and curiosity for the tech sector
- At least one year of equity research or industry specific subject matter experience, with demonstrable research and analytical skills
- Knowledge of the China Technology sector and the firms that operate within it. Ability to read and speak Mandarin
- A deep understanding of accounting and financial analysis
- Candidates must be highly motivated, with strong organizational skills. Capable of multi-tasking, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Able to generate new ideas, with a passion for enhancing and developing products
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills
- Attention to detail with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
We'd love to see:
- CFA, Chartered Accountant, MBA, or related qualification
- Direct equity research experience within the technology sector, including financial modelling
- Solid understanding of Financial Macro Development and knowledge of Python or related skills
- Previous work experience with the Bloomberg Terminal.
