What’s the Role?
Bloomberg Tax is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst to join our Strategy and Analysis team. This role will play a key part in leveraging in-depth research and analysis to address and resolve complex tax issues across Federal, International, and State & Local domains.
• Identify and resolve Federal, International and State and Local tax matters and related issues• Research and assistance in cross border transactions, including analysis and planning• Research Pillar 2 and Public Country-by-Country matters, including analysis of new guidance, calculations and disclosures, and documentation of the same• Interface with domestic and foreign tax and legal advisers to obtain relevant advice• Prepare detailed planning and analysis memoranda re: the above• Interface with internal clients re tax planning and structuring matters• Implement planning structures and interface with clients and outside advisors (foreign and domestic) with respect to implementation matters on a project basis• Maintain up to date knowledge of Federal and State income tax developments• Analyze financial statements, including foreign source income and tax credits• Interface with the Accounting Group, other data providers, and internal stakeholders to gather information and provide informed guidance• Participate in Federal income tax audits
You’ll need to have:
• 2-4 years of tax experience with a broad-based background that includes compliance and research and planning matters• MST or JD• Experience in cross-border/international tax issues, including Pillar 2.• Self-starter that can work on tax planning and analysis projects• Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritizing tasks based on urgency• Strong judgment in selecting the appropriate depth of analysis to support planning and documentation efforts• Proficiency in evaluating the tax implications of complex documents, including vendor/customer agreements and investment partnership agreements• Experience leading and mentoring junior staff, with a focus on skill development and project execution• Strong tax analytical skills necessary to apply tax technical concepts to complex transactions/structures and to provide understandable summaries to management and other tax department members• Experience in handling IRS audits and other tax controversy matters• Knowledge of flow-through entity compliance and planning• In-depth familiarity with tax research techniques and resources• Strong writing/verbal skills to prepare detailed planning memoranda and numerical analyses as well as to provide simple explanations to clients (e.g. non-tax specialists) and other department members• Working knowledge of accounting for income taxes
