Join the MSX Systems Services team at Bloomberg, where you'll play a critical role in building, supporting, and maintaining the foundational infrastructure services powering our global fleet of over 75,000 machines. Our team is central to ensuring the reliability, visibility, and seamless operation of core services, utilizing a dynamic mix of internally-developed solutions and widely-adopted open-source technologies such as Icinga2, Pulp, Aptly, Gemmirror, and Apache.
As part of our team, you'll operate at the intersection of Systems Reliability Engineering and Software Engineering, designing and delivering scalable, stable, and reliable solutions essential to the server lifecycle—from provisioning through decommissioning. Our current initiatives are focused on boosting system resilience through enhanced product integration and redesigning our monitoring infrastructure for enhanced scalability, stability, and responsiveness.This role offers a unique opportunity to make a substantial impact by driving meaningful infrastructure improvements that directly enhance the productivity and efficiency of over 5,000 developers and multiple infrastructure teams. You’ll have the chance to actively contribute to open-source projects, collaborate broadly across the organization, and continuously advance your technical and leadership capabilities.

You’ll Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of professional experience in software development using programming languages such as Python, Ruby, or C++.
- Proven ability to design, develop, and deploy scalable and reliable software solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to collaborative teamwork.

- Practical experience in maintaining and troubleshooting infrastructure services.
- Active contributions to open-source software projects.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and methodologies.
- Demonstrated passion for innovation and a drive to improve existing systems and processes.
- Understanding of systems reliability engineering (SRE) principles.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Chef, Salt, Ansible).
- Knowledge of monitoring systems (e.g., Icinga2).
