Posted on Nov 26, 2025
Bloomberg runs on data. Our products are fueled by powerful information. We combine data and context to paint a complete picture for our clients—around the clock and around the world. In Data, we are responsible for delivering this data, news, and analytics through innovative technology—quickly and accurately. We apply product thinking, domain expertise, and technical insight to continuously improve our data offerings, ensuring they remain reliable, scalable, and fit-for-purpose in a fast-changing landscape.
Our Team
The Private Deals Data team is responsible for Bloomberg’s private transactions data model—an essential foundation for understanding global private markets. This data defines and enriches private companies, linking them to. Private company data plays a critical role in research, investment analysis, compliance, and due diligence. Integrating diverse datasets with our core private company data helps clients uncover insights, validate exposures, monitor evolving risks, and identify new opportunities in opaque and fast-growing markets.
The Role
We are seeking a Data Product Owner, Private Deals and Valuation to lead the design and execution of Bloomberg’s strategy for integrating M&A, Private Market, and related datasets into Bloomberg’s broader semantic model and analytics stack. You’ll define how private company and deal data connect to Bloomberg’s discovery tools, APIs, and BQL—making them intuitive, queryable, and analytically powerful for clients and internal users alike. You will own the roadmap for embedding private market content into Bloomberg’s data ecosystem, ensuring seamless discoverability, interoperability, and analytical consistency. Working closely with engineering, product, and analytics teams, you’ll translate complex user needs into actionable integration requirements—bridging the gap between data architecture and client workflow impact.
You Will:
  • Own the roadmap for integrating M&A, private company, and valuation datasets into Bloomberg’s semantic model and BQL.
  • Define how users discover and interact with private market data through Bloomberg functions, search, and API access.
  • Translate business use cases into schema, metadata, and data exposure requirements
  • Partner with Engineering to deliver scalable integrations that support both internal and client-facing workflows.
  • Identify and prioritize cross-domain data linkages (e.g., ESG, financials, ownership, transactions) that enhance insight generation.
  • Drive internal alignment on integration priorities across multiple product verticals.
  • Define acceptance criteria for integrations and ensure they meet performance, completeness, and usability standards.
  • Advocate for user-centric data design—ensuring private market datasets are as accessible and discoverable as their public counterparts.
You’ll Need to Have:
*We use years of experience as a guide but will consider all candidates who can demonstrate the
required skills.
  • 4+ years of experience in product management, data platform strategy, or data integration.
  • Strong understanding of private market data (companies, transactions, valuations) and its analytical use cases.
  • Proven ability to translate client workflows into data requirements and functional specifications.
  • Experience working with data engineers and modelers to design integration schemas.
  • Familiarity with data discovery, cataloging, or semantic modeling concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
  • Demonstrated success managing cross-functional roadmaps and competing priorities.
We’d Love to See:
  • Experience working with Bloomberg Query Language (BQL) or comparable query frameworks.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data integration, APIs, or graph-based models.
  • Understanding of how M&A, private equity, and venture datasets interconnect within financial analysis.
  • Track record of delivering data products that improve discoverability or analytical capability.
  • Curiosity about evolving data integration patterns and private market data innovations.
