What's the role?
As Product Owner you will be responsible for overseeing the strategy, delivery, and evolution of a number of solutions that support Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) at Bloomberg. In this cross-functional role, you will bridge the needs of Risk, Compliance, and Engineering, ensuring your designated platforms integrate seamlessly into the broader GRC ecosystem. You'll be responsible for maximizing the value of these platforms and for ensuring they support Bloomberg’s business goals through risk reduction, compliance with regulation, and informed decision making.
We’ll trust you to:
• Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for the relevant GRC platforms within your remit, including roadmap development, backlog management, and stakeholder alignment
• Translate business, risk and compliance needs into clear requirements, user stories, and process flows for implementation within the platforms
• Understand the data structures, workflows and integrations for the platforms, both upstream and downstream
• Partner with key stakeholders to define and prioritize capabilities
• Coordinate with internal Engineering and external vendor support resources to manage enhancements, releases, testing, and issue resolution
• Ensure platform configurations align with the central programs for Governance, Risk and Compliance
• Measure and monitor platform effectiveness through usage analytics, stakeholder feedback, and defined OKRs, and lead continuous improvement efforts
• Serve as the subject matter lead for GRC tooling within the broader technology ecosystem, ensuring the platforms complement other related tooling and workflows
You’ll need to have:
• 7+ years of experience in product ownership, GRC/IRM technology, or risk/compliance tooling
• Solid understanding of the principles of Risk and Compliance management (e.g., the Risk Management Lifecycle and associated methodologies, tracking and identifying regulatory changes, and monitoring compliance with regulations)
• Experience working across multiple functions, with the ability to balance risk, operational, and commercial perspectives
• Familiarity with agile delivery practices, backlog grooming, and cross-functional sprint planning
• Excellent communication skills and ability to operate across both technical and non-technical stakeholder groups
We’d love to see:
• Familiarity with enterprise control environments and risk frameworks (e.g., COSO, NIST, GRC program structures)
• Agile Product Owner certification (e.g., CSPO) or equivalent experience
• Proven success driving adoption and maturity of platforms in shared service or federated environments
