Bloomberg TV is seeking an outstanding market specialist to join our flagship New York newsroom at the heart of global finance. This contract position through January 2027 is an opportunity to shape how millions of viewers understand the markets in real time.
We’re looking for someone who thoroughly understands the interplay between equities, rates, FX, commodities and macroeconomics — and can translate sophisticated market movements into compelling, data-driven television.
You’ll work side-by-side with anchors and producers to power live programming with sharp analysis, real-time data, and authoritative editorial judgment. If you thrive under pressure, love breaking news, and have deep market experience, this role puts you at the center of it all.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Serve as a key editorial voice on market-moving stories across asset classes
- Partner closely with on-air talent to conceptualize, produce, and execute live market segments
- Translate complex financial data into clear, compelling visual storytelling using Bloomberg Terminal charts
- Identify and surface the most relevant data, trends, and themes driving global markets
- Leverage Bloomberg Terminal research tools to uncover market, economic, industry, and company insights
- Guide the broader newsroom with clear, concise editorial notes on major market developments
- Operate independently with strong judgment while maintaining Bloomberg’s highest standards of accuracy
WHAT YOU BRING
- Proven experience in financial markets — with strong knowledge across multiple asset classes
- Demonstrated ability to interpret market dynamics quickly and accurately under deadline pressure
- Excellent editorial instincts and news judgment, particularly in fast-moving environments
- Strong numerical proficiency and comfort working with complex financial data
- Experience with Bloomberg Terminal (preferred) and/or Excel
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to perform at a high level with minimal oversight
- Flexibility to work varied hours in line with market activity
