Bloomberg News is seeking an editor to join our U.S. audience team to help shape and execute our subscriber audience strategy across platforms.
As part of Bloomberg’s digital team, you will develop and lead audience strategies for premium consumer content, working in close partnership with reporters and editors across the newsroom to ensure our journalism reaches, engages, and converts subscribers. You will translate editorial priorities into actionable distribution plans that deepen subscriber relationships and extend the reach of our work across platforms, including through video and live events.
This role requires both strategy and hands-on execution. You will identify opportunities for driving innovative approaches to audience growth — piloting new formats, testing emerging platforms, and challenging conventional distribution models. From live Q&As and newsletters to alerts and explainers, you will work across teams to experiment and refine quickly to maximize impact.
A central focus of this role is serving as a key digital partner to Businessweek. You’ll work closely with Businessweek’s editors and reporters as an audience strategist, participating in brainstorming sessions and giving input on story ideation and packages. You’ll advise on SEO, publishing and promotional cadence for both the brand and its reporters to elevate its journalism across platforms, including print, digital, audio and newsletters.
You will also play a central role in daily publishing workflows, ensuring stories are optimized for performance through sharp headlines, strong visuals, SEO, and platform-specific presentation. Beyond execution, you will serve as a trusted newsroom partner, equipping editors and reporters with actionable insights and best practices that elevate coverage and strengthen its role within the Bloomberg subscription. Your recommendations will inform how content is presented, distributed, and recirculated across Bloomberg’s platforms.
WE’LL TRUST YOU TO:
  • Develop and execute audience strategy and rollout plans for subscriber-focused coverage initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally with reporters and editors, digital, product, video, and social video teams to deliver cohesive, high-impact distribution plans.
  • Drive experimentation with new storytelling formats and engagement tactics to grow and retain subscribers.
  • In partnership with our analytics team, use data to inform audience strategy, identify growth opportunities, and continuously improve performance.
  • Act as a newsroom resource, translating audience insights into clear, actionable guidance for editors and reporters.
YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:
  • 5+ years in newsroom roles focused on audience development, on-platform curation, or social media distribution. Experience with social video production is a plus.
  • Experience working within a paywall or subscriber-driven news environment preferred.
  • A strategic thinker who pairs strong editorial judgment with a deep understanding of digital audience behavior.
  • Comfortable testing new ideas, iterating quickly, and scaling what works.
  • A clear communicator and collaborative partner with a proven ability to work across teams and functions
  • Background in business journalism preferred.
