What is the role?
At Bloomberg Engineering & CTO Finance, we are committed to providing outstanding support to our business partners in Engineering and CTO by providing insight on business performance, financial oversight and thought leadership. We are looking for a finance specialist to join our larger finance team supporting the Engineering and CTO businesses. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to deliver a unique blend of financial and operational analysis, financial modeling, and reporting and senior management support in a fast-paced and innovative business. Your financial oversight will involve not only the people and technology assets, but also strategic and groundbreaking technology initiatives. You will also be responsible for building tools that serve longer-term needs. Your ability to collaborate across the organization and possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills will help you be successful in this role.
We will trust you to:
· Lead overall coordination of the Engineering P&L reporting to ensure consistent financial views across multiple spend types, as well as standardized variance drivers while adhering to Corporate FP&A guidelines
· Lead all aspects of financial reporting, analysis, and planning related to assigned P&L line items.
· Provide ongoing financial and transactional support focused on Engineering headcount management and costs.
· Build and maintain benchmarks and business metrics related to areas of responsibility
· Bring a fresh perspective to the role, with the intention of collaborating with our Engineering, HR and Corporate FP&A partners to drive accuracy and efficiency.
· Actively participate and support CFO led strategic business initiatives.
· Bring a positive attitude to a high-performing team
· Possess the aptitude to learn more about the overall Engineering business and seek the opportunity to grow into other areas of the organization (i.e. Datacenters, Capital Planning, Software Governance).
You will bring to the team:
· A demonstrated ability in financial analysis.
· Advanced financial modeling and data visualization skills.
· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes of issues and projects.
· Experience carrying out sophisticated work with autonomy and make decisions within scope of responsibilities.
· A great teammate who can work across multiple departments and levels within the company.
We would love to see:
· BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative subject: Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics.
· 5+ years experience in financial services or a financial data provider industry.
· Proven experience in a Technology Finance environment, with a focus on Engineering.
· Flexibility to work in an entrepreneurial and dynamic environment.
· Familiarity with the Bloomberg terminal is useful, but not required.
· Experience with Enterprise planning and reporting software applications i.e. SAP, Oracle
· Experience with data visualization applications i.e. Tableau or Qlik.
