BDMS works with some of the largest and most prestigious financial services firms in the world.

What’s the role?

Based in our 120 Park Avenue office in New York, the BDMS Data Operations team is seeking a motivated and technically adept self-starter to join as an Operations Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for the operational support of our global client base to ensure continuous coverage and operational excellence.

Key duties include end-to-end workflow monitoring, responding to and analysing production escalations, supporting the deployment and maintenance of Data License Plus (DL+) tenants, and engaging with clients and vendor partners to ensure seamless data delivery. You will also contribute to change management initiatives, user acceptance testing (UAT), and ongoing process improvements that drive service excellence.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Oversee the end-to-end manufacturing workflow, from the receipt of incoming data feeds to the timely delivery of client output.
  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues across diverse vendor datasets, ensuring a consistently high level of client service.
  • Research production issues, analyse trend patterns, identify root causes, and deliver timely resolutions to maintain operational continuity.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to ad hoc client escalations, including the investigation and resolution of complex SQL issues.
  • Assist in the deployment and maintenance of Data License Plus (DL+) tenants, including configuration, validation, and initial production support.
  • Monitor vendor partner notifications and announcements, perform impact analysis, and take necessary action to prevent service disruptions.
  • Champion data quality through ongoing process improvements and the implementation of automation initiatives.

You’ll need to have:

  • Demonstrated experience in data operations, quality assurance or client-facing technical support roles.
  • Experience in SQL, with the ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex queries.
  • Familiarity with data formats (e.g. Parquet, Avro, JSON, XML) and cloud technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks or Google BigQuery.
  • Exposure to software testing and UAT cycles, especially in a SaaS or data services environment.
  • Proven ability to perform and deliver in a dynamic, complex and diverse environment.
  • Solid understanding of financial data, instruments and market concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in standard PC applications, including Excel, Word and other productivity and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent time management and autonomous decision-making skills.

We’d love to see:

  • Interest in technology and finance.
  • Curiosity about data-driven technologies and their operational applications.
