Who We Are
Bloomberg’s Core Terminal business delivers cross-asset data, analytics, and workflows through a unified platform used by the world’s leading financial institutions.
How clients access and interact with this data is rapidly evolving. Increasingly, workflows are powered by query and AI-driven interfaces like BQL and ASKB, which depend on data that is not just high quality, but structured, connected, and interpretable by both humans and machines.
Event data is central to this evolution. Bloomberg’s Company Events ecosystem captures market-moving corporate activity—spanning earnings, dividends, conferences, M&A milestones, and shareholder meetings—and translates it into datasets that power discovery, analysis, and decision-making. This ecosystem spans two complementary domains with distinct users and workflows. Corporate Events focuses on forward-looking, contextual data that supports research, monitoring, and idea generation, while Corporate Actions represents lifecycle-driven, authoritative data used for operational workflows such as execution and reconciliation.
As client expectations shift toward AI-native and query-first experiences, Bloomberg is investing in a more unified and scalable representation of events. This includes aligning these datasets where appropriate and enabling them to be seamlessly queried, combined, and reasoned on across BQL, ASKB, and downstream applications.
The Role
You will define and drive how Bloomberg’s event data powers AI-driven client experiences — primarily through ASKB and BQL. Your core mandate is to make event data discoverable, queryable, and usable by AI systems. This includes shaping how datasets are modeled, connected, and exposed so they can be effectively understood, retrieved, and reasoned on within ASKB.
You will focus on Bloomberg’s Company Events domain, while partnering closely with an existing Product Manager who leads Corporate Actions. Together, you will align these complementary datasets into a cohesive, scalable events framework.
This role sits at the intersection of AI product integration, data modeling, and platform design, requiring you to translate complex event data into structures that work seamlessly for existing users and machine-driven workflows.
We’ll Trust You To
- Define and drive product vision for a unified events framework across Company Events and Corporate Actions:
- Establish common schemas, definitions, and semantics where appropriate
- Align with the Corporate Actions product lead to ensure consistency without constraining domain-specific workflows
- Establish a clear and scalable event data model, including:
- Core schema (entity, event type, key dates, status, source, confidence)
- Alignment between structured and semi-structured data
- Clear source lineage and transparency
- Drive the development of a shared core events layer, enabling:
- Consistent querying across datasets in BQL and ASKB
- Reusable event definitions and semantics
- Scalable integration with downstream products
- Act as the connective layer across teams, working with:
- ASKB, BQL, and AI platform teams
- Data modeling and engineering
- Corporate Actions product lead
- Internal stakeholders and clients
- Partner with Engineering and Data teams to evolve architecture
- Work closely with Transcript and content teams to ensure event-related content (calls, transcripts, presentations) is fully integrated and queryable alongside event data
- Engage with clients and internal stakeholders (Research, Sales, Analytics, Trading, Operations) to:
- Understand how events data is used in practice
- Identify where workflows break across datasets
- Validate and iterate on product improvements
- Communicate product vision, decisions, and trade-offs clearly and regularly through roadmaps, presentations, and written updates.
You’ll Need to Have
- 7+ years of experience within product management or a similar role, translating client needs into solutions
- Experience with events data
- Experience working with data models, schemas, or data-intensive products
- Familiarity with query-driven products or data access patterns (e.g., APIs, analytical query layers like BQL)
- Experience partnering with engineering and data teams on complex system design
- Strong ability to think through data semantics, normalization, and system boundaries
- Proven ability to set strategy, prioritize effectively, and execute across multiple stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to align teams with different objectives
We’d Love to See
- Familiarity with entity resolution, identifier mapping, and data lineage concepts
- Exposure to high-scale data platforms and distributed data systems
- Experience designing data for queryability and downstream consumption
- Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across product, data, and engineering teams
