We are seeking a Manager - Business Development (North America) to join our team as we continue to shape the market around Canary’s innovative and versatile products and services.

What You'll Be Up To:

  • Identify, establish and continuously manage B2B partnerships for Canary in the U.S. (and North America)
  • Execution responsibility for business development projects, leading projects to a successfully closed and fully executed partnership
  • Build business cases and execution/ project plans for each partnership allowing to prioritize each project
  • Interface between our partners and the Canary team (Sales, Marketing, Development)
  • Keep a pulse on the market to assess new industry verticals that we should be exploring, and determine which companies within those industries could lead to interesting partnership opportunities
  • Identify new business opportunities and target contacts
  • Manage relationships with existing partners (including increasing the value of current partnerships and expanding upon existing relationships)
  • Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision-making within senior-level audiences (both internally and externally)
  • Facilitate the negotiation of deal terms with partners
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product on the execution of partnership deals that drive user growth, support creative opportunities, and open new revenue streams
  • Identify and track success metrics for each deal so we can make decisions based on data
  • Attend relevant conferences, meetings, and industry events

What You'll Need To Have:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Business Development / Strategic Partnerships role at tech companies (ideally Cloud, SaaS, PaaS)
  • Educational background in Business Administration, Economics or similar
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to compellingly articulate value propositions and negotiate partnership opportunities
  • Well developed interpersonal skills
  • Self starter with a “Can-do” attitude and “implementer and finisher” mentality
  • Willingness to travel (national and international) and meet with our partners
  • Distinctive problem-solving, strategic and analytical capabilities
  • Comfortable operating in a rapidly changing, fast paced industry with the ability to manage an evolving product set and partner needs
  • A constant sense of urgency and persistence needed to break through internal and partner organizations

Bonus Points:

  • Connected Home industry knowledge and a solid understanding of Canary’s competitive landscape
  • Prior industry experience in the Smart Home/ Internet-of Things environment
  • Experience working in very fast growing organizations
