Overview
The Global Execution Platform Head is a senior leadership role reporting to the Global Head of Prime Services and Execution Platform, responsible for the strategic direction, performance, and overall health of the global execution platform, encompassing both Futures and Cash Equities execution. This global role focuses on driving platform stability, optimizing performance, managing global regulatory compliance, ensuring seamless integration between different platform components, and leading strategic initiatives to enhance the platform’s capabilities and competitiveness. The Global Execution Platform Head manages a global team of execution platform specialists, collaborates closely with regional Execution Advisory Services (EAS) and Markets Quantitative Analyst (MQA) teams, maintains a critical matrix relationship with the global EE Product team (who report into regional Electronic Execution heads), and works closely with Technology teams, leading technology budget allocation decisions for the platform. This role is essential for maintaining a robust, scalable, and compliant global execution platform that meets the evolving needs of clients and the business worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Global Platform Strategy and Roadmap: Define and maintain the long-term global strategic roadmap for the execution platform (Futures and Cash Equities), aligning with overall business objectives and considering regional nuances and regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities for innovation and growth, prioritizing initiatives to enhance platform capabilities and global competitiveness.
- Global Platform Performance and Stability: Oversee global platform performance monitoring, proactively identifying and addressing bottlenecks to ensure high availability, low latency, and optimal performance across all regions and asset classes (Futures and Cash Equities). Manage platform capacity planning, anticipating future growth and proactively addressing potential scalability issues on a global scale.
- Global Regulatory Compliance and Governance: Ensure platform adherence to all relevant regulations and compliance requirements globally, collaborating with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams in each region to implement necessary controls and procedures. Oversee global audits and regulatory reporting related to the platform, ensuring consistent compliance standards across all regions.
- Global Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with regional EAS and MQA teams to ensure seamless integration between different platform components across all regions. Facilitate communication and collaboration to address technical issues, implement enhancements, and resolve client escalations globally. Maintain a critical matrix relationship with the global EE Product team, who have regional reporting lines, providing input on global platform capabilities and collaborating on long-term product strategy that aligns with the platform’s global roadmap.
- Global Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with key global platform vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements are met. Manage vendor performance globally and escalate issues as needed, ensuring consistent service delivery across all regions.
- Global Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Stay abreast of global market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in execution services across Futures and Cash Equities. Identify opportunities and threats and adjust global platform strategy accordingly.
- Technology Leadership and Budget Allocation: Provide leadership and direction to Technology teams responsible for developing and maintaining the execution platform. Lead the technology budget allocation process, ensuring appropriate resources are allocated to support platform development, maintenance, and enhancements. Collaborate closely with Technology leadership to define technology strategy and prioritize investments in line with the platform’s overall roadmap.
- Team Management: Manage and mentor a global team of execution platform specialists, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities. Oversee performance management, hiring, and other team-related activities.
Qualifications:
- Extensive relevant experience in electronic trading or a related field, with a deep understanding of platform architecture, technologies, and global market microstructure across Futures and Cash Equities.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex global technology projects and leading cross-functional teams across multiple regions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze data, identify global trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences globally.
- Strong understanding of global regulatory and compliance requirements related to electronic trading across Futures and Cash Equities.
- Experience working with and coordinating teams across multiple time zones and cultures.
- Proven experience managing large technology budgets and making strategic investment decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing and mentoring teams.
Education:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
