The Role

We are seeking an exceptional technology leader to serve as Head of Platforms, driving the strategic vision and execution of our core technology infrastructure that powers wealth management solutions for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients globally. This role represents a unique opportunity to shape the future of wealth technology at one of the world’s leading financial institutions.

As Head of Platforms, this leader will drive a large-scale technology organization responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the foundational platforms that enable Citi’s Global Wealth Management business. They will oversee critical systems including client onboarding, portfolio management, trading platforms, data analytics, and digital client experiences while driving innovation and operational excellence across a complex, global technology landscape.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the technology platform strategy, driving digital transformation and innovation to achieve business objectives. Partner with business leaders to translate needs into scalable technology solutions
• Operational Excellence: Oversee engineering teams responsible for core platforms, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability. Drive continuous improvement in system performance, user experience, and operational efficiency
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing technology team. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence to attract and retain top talent
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business leaders, technology partners, and stakeholders across the organization. Communicate technology strategy, progress, and build strong partnerships

Qualifications:

• Location: Jersey Citi, New Jersey
• 15+ years of technology leadership experience with at least 8 years in senior management roles

• 10+ years of experience in financial services technology
• Proven track record of leading large, complex technology organizations (100+ people), in addition to managing distributed teams across multiple geographic locations
• Strong background in platform engineering, enterprise architecture, or similar domains
• Deep understanding of wealth management, private banking, or investment management business models
• Experience with trading systems, portfolio management platforms, or client-facing wealth technology
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in financial services (SEC, FINRA, GDPR, etc.)
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern infrastructure patterns
• Knowledge of API design, microservices architecture, and distributed systems
• Understanding of data architecture, analytics platforms, and real-time processing

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Advanced degree preferred (MBA, MS in Technology Management)
