The Wealth Lending Advisor for Asset Management Group (AMG) is a strategic professional lender who closely follows the latest trends in the Asset Management industry (traditional, alternative and hybrid asset managers) and adapts them for application within their own job and the business. The position supports all Wealth Private Bankers whose clients and prospects are partners and employees in the Global Asset Manager Industry, an expansion market in the Global Wealth business. This individual will be a subject matter expert within the field and strong commercial awareness is a necessity.
The Lending Advisor will work closely with both Private and Institutional Bankers to broaden Citi relationships globally. The Lending Advisor will lead lending opportunities by providing advanced judgment on new opportunities and conduct independent quantitative and qualitative analysis to address challenges while developing new, innovative solutions. Required to think beyond the existing norms to determine appropriate structured solutions. Excellent communication skills are required to facilitate negotiations both internally and directly with clients, often at a senior level. Further the Lending advisor must leverage relationship skills to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and external customers to support proposals. Accountable for significant direct business results.
Responsibilities:

Expand and develop new lending opportunities in concert with the AMG Client Coverage Banking team.
Originate and structure financing programs for asset managers within established risk acceptance criteria, demonstrating appropriate risk-return characteristics.
Due diligence private capital funds and make recommendations for inclusion as collateral in the financing facilities as part of the Greenlight Approval process.
Negotiate documentation with client, including engaging external counsel for drafting and providing required opinions. Ensure execution of transactions in accordance with agreed documents.
Maintain high level of unit productivity by ensuring timely turnaround.
Demonstrate superior partnering skills with key stakeholders including across all product groups.
Responsible for strict adherence to the Bank and CPB compliance/regulatory framework.
Collaborate with the in-business risk underwriting team in every aspect of
Foster strong working relationships Partner with the Underwriting Team, Transaction Management, and Loan Operations to enhance/improve service delivery to our clients.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
7+ years of banking/ finance experience
Small/ middle market lending or counterparty risk management experience a plus
Strong and proven financial structuring, analytical, and execution skills
Solid communication and marketing skills
Experience making credit decisions and recommendations
Broad knowledge of financial markets and alternative investments
Education:
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, Master of Business Administration degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$157,040.00 - $288,000.00
