Global Payments is a key strength and differentiator for Citi. The Global Payments business intermediates and processes flows generated by Corporates, Banks & Financial Institutions and Governments. Overall size of this market is estimated at $40-50 billion in revenues with Citi accounting for ~$2 billion and market share of ~4-5%.
USD Clearing is the flagship product within the Citi’s Global Payments contributing to the business growth through continuous innovation, market leading capabilities and a very strong track record in delivering revenue growth year on year. Our USD Clearing offering is a truly global product with clients in over 140 countries and a global true 24/7 operating model that supports customers’ global needs and efficient processing of payments across all time zones.
Opportunity description
In order to deliver on the key strategic and tactical objectives of USD Clearing, we are now looking for an ambitious Payments Product Manager.
The person in this role will focus on management and development of core payment services to our Financial Institution (FI) and Corporate clients with the objective of support strategic growth objectives and product transformation
One of the key aspects of the role includes building new product capabilities to capture flows via new infrastructures and business models.
To achieve the role’s objectives, the person in this position will work very closely with:
Global Clearing commercialization team in delivery of the customer actions including deals momentum and oversight of ongoing customers’ activity
Global Clearing Product team members in build and execution of customer centric innovations and product transformation
Client relationship and sales teams on client validation and ideation, growing the new business pipeline, and closing deals
Operations, technology and functional partners in identification and delivery of the new product capabilities.
Risk and Controls function to assure sound product governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Support definition and execution of strategic objectives in context of evolving business landscape
Focus on the product differentiation, growth and commercialization.
Manage relationship with key partners and align strategic objectives
Develop and execute timely, cost effective and quality product transformation in collaboration with Technology, Operations and product partners to support the product strategy.
Drive pricing strategy formulation and its execution
Partner with Finance to:
- Monitor and control billing/revenue, expenditure, and benefits realization
- Lead Core Payments P&L monitoring, assessing trends and delivering insights into the portfolioMonitor, analyze and influence key global Domestic Payments P&L drivers (Revenue, Volume, Pipeline, Deal trends, Voice of Client)
Create thought leadership content for clients, partners, and industry forums
Understand and proactively manages risk and compliance in respective area of responsibility
Support client pitches and proposal management in partnership with commercialization team and coverage/sales partners
Understand the Payments landscape and industry trends
Work with clients, sales and partners to identify opportunities to enhance USD Wire payments solutions, to ensure a best-in-class client experience. This would include leading cross functional client validation activities and internal actions leading to service enhancements
Lead the end to end solutioning for key clients in scope of the USD Wire payments in collaboration with Commercialization partners and other Payments product teams to drive commercialization opportunities
Work with Product control functions to ensure that all relevant documentation (eg Product Approval Program) and processes are strictly adhered to and part of the management fabric of the product business
Coordinate planning and other related activities for launching of new capabilities and functionalities across technology, operations, implementations, and regional teams
Stay informed about competition, market trends, and new technologies
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets. This includes driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
5-7 years of experience in Product Management and/or Product Development discipline
Experience in and understanding of logistics or Industrial verticals including payments ecosystem and Financial Market Infrastructure (FMI)
Ability to make complex judgments and to provide solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives
In-depth quantitative or qualitative analysis to solve problems and develop new, innovative solutions
Ability to apply ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution in complicated and/or novel situations
Developed diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers
Experience with and confidence in delivering presentations to clients and senior managers
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

$109,120.00 - $163,680.00
