The Trust Services Referral Program Lead has end-to-end responsibility for driving a consistent, sustainable and growth-driven trust referral platform across Wealth. The Trust Services Referral Program is a revenue-generating program leveraged by Wealth’s sales organization to drive value for Citi’s clients to meet their trust service needs. The Trust Services Referral Program Lead is part of Citi’s dynamic Investor Solutions team that interface with Advisors and Bankers across Wealth, while maintaining “best in class” relationship management with third-party trust providers.

This is a high visibility role that requires knowledge of Citi’s Businesses and Functions with an emphasis on Sales, Vendor Management, Relationship Management, Salesforce platform and Risk and Control. There will be extensive interaction with Businesses and Functions, Risk and Control teams and Citi Third Party Risk Management program teams requiring superior organizational and project management skills coupled with excellent communication skills to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.

The Trust Services Referral Program Lead must have a good understanding of the industry, trust products and services in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. External communication/negotiation is necessary in partnering with third-party trust providers. Responsible for implementing functional strategy and end-to-end accountability for results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of trust referral.


Responsibilities:

  • Supports planning, directing and coordination of day-to-day activities of running the Trust Services Referral Program.

  • Program management by applying a broad and comprehensive understanding in multiple functional areas as well as underlying business principles.

  • Identifies stakeholders in key organizations and build and manage relationships with each stakeholder.

  • Responsible for metrics that drive governance, program success, and NNIA identification as a result of trust referrals.

  • Collaborate skill set focusing on positive outcomes for client-facing roles (Bankers, Wealth Planners, Advisors).

  • Support Advisors, Bankers, Wealth Planners, Relationship Managers and Financial Planners on understanding the Trust Referral process and procedures.

  • Responsible for negotiating contracts with third-party trust providers and managing the relationship in adherence with Citi’s Third-Party Risk Management policy.

  • Directs the creation of multiple work efforts and manage their alignment to business goals.

  • Leads the facilitation and coordination of necessary technology platform enhancements to drive trust referral success.

  • Leads the identification and drive resolution of issues, including those outside established programs of work.

  • Drives adherence to program processes, procedures, methods, and standards for program delivery across Wealth business lines within multiple jurisdictions.

  • Directs the communication of status, issue, and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including senior management, on a timely basis.

  • Directs the identification of risks which impact program delivery and ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary.

  • Responsible for engaging with Risk & Control, 2LOD, and 3LOD to address gaps, audits and exams.

  • Partners with Senior Management to identify and mitigate resource gaps.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of experience in business-facing roles and strategic projects and/or program management

  • Demonstrate a consistent track record having worked in collaboration with teams/cross-functional areas and large, strategic projects.

  • Previous business-facing roles, consulting, technology and/or management

  • Proven experience engaging external business relationships.

  • BA, MBA are a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience
