The Payments business is a key strength and differentiator for Citi, intermediating and processing up to $5 trillion in daily payments generated by Corporates, Banks & Financial Institutions, and Governments. Clearing and FI Payments are a global product suite within Citi's Payments business. These products provide core payment services to our Financial Institution clients for the global clearing of their treasury and commercial payments.
The primary objective is to maximize business opportunities arising from our FI clients' payment flows in major clearing currencies and cross-border payments. This involves driving strategic modernization and delivering new product capabilities by leveraging existing and emerging technologies and industry developments (e.g., 24/7 USD payments, stablecoins, digital assets).

USD Clearing is the flagship product within the Clearing and FI Payments business, boasting a strong track record of delivering consistent year-on-year revenue growth. Our USD Clearing product is truly global, serving clients in over 150 countries with an operating model designed to support clients and ensure efficient processing across all time zones.
The Head of USD Clearing will collaborate closely with numerous teams, including the Corporate Bank and FI coverage, to ensure business growth. They will be responsible for formulating and executing regional and global strategies. This broad role encompasses all aspects of end-to-end Business Management, with a critical focus on maintaining a robust control environment and strategic operational resiliency.
In addition to leading the USD Clearing Business, the successful candidate will also serve as a senior member of the Clearing & FI Payments team and take on broader responsibilities, including representing Citi in relevant industry forums.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Strategy & Financial Performance
● Develop a 3-5 year USD Clearing product strategy and execution roadmap in partnership with regional product teams, Corporate Banking Group (CBG), and functional partners.
● Drive innovation within the USD Clearing business for FI clients, partnering with the broader Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) and Citi organization.
● Identify growth opportunities through strategic partnerships (e.g., with FinTechs) and by leveraging upcoming infrastructural changes (e.g., SWIFT Platform - PTM, ISO 20022, API).
● Manage Product P&L (Revenue, Expense, and Net Income Plan).
● Create annual financial plans and reforecasts based on key drivers and existing and potential customers.
● Continuously increase revenues, net income, market share, volumes, and customer count.
● Initiate and drive transformational initiatives to optimize resources and the operating model, visibly enhancing product financials, profitability, and client experience while maintaining a pristine control environment and strong operational resiliency.
● Analyze product profitability, competition, and market positioning; proactively drive initiatives to maintain Citi's leadership in Product Management and Product Development.
● Drive continuous enhancements to the client experience and operational resiliency, working closely with Client Operations to ensure an optimal end-to-end operating model.
● Pilot new solutions on behalf of the broader FI Clearing or Payments organization.
● Ensure a strong end-to-end product management discipline for the USD Clearing product, fostering strong connections and common goals with functional partners across all product components.
Product Development
● Embed and execute a culture of world-class professional Product Development.
● Ensure that ongoing product innovation and development meet strategic and financial objectives.
● Ensure product offerings are competitive in service, functionality, and price.
● Meet client needs through seamless integration and packaging of products with other complementary capabilities.
● Focus on developing both treasury payments and commercial payments packages, leveraging Global Payment Products capabilities.
● Build FI Payments "solution packages" in collaboration with other Products (e.g., Worldlink).
Client Engagement and Industry Leadership
● Provide regional and global leadership to the broader Payments organization for Funds Transfers, encompassing industry standards, strategic evolution, operating model, and infrastructure best practices.
● Drive USD Clearing marketing strategy and client/industry positioning.
● Communicate product vision and innovation agenda internally and externally (in partnership with CBG and FI Coverage).
● Support and lead client engagement on key payment deals and relationships; leverage client networks and product expertise to support the sales team in building pipeline and driving wins.
● Drive customer segmentation, product positioning, pricing, and marketing plans for each FI client segment (banks, broker-dealers, payment intermediaries, etc.).
● Maintain an active thought leadership role in the industry and with clients through publications and conferences.
● Represent Citi on Industry Associations, conferences, and committees.
● Participate in and lead key industry efforts, such as the evolution of payment infrastructures and innovation on SWIFT.
● Spearhead efforts to achieve leadership in product awards and industry recognition.
● Drive market management activities and ensure effective cluster and country engagement across the product organization, CBG, and FI coverage.
Product Risk Management
● Demonstrate ownership and leadership in managing risks associated with USD Clearing and the wider FI product set.
● Ensure appropriate processes and controls are in place to manage credit risk and liquidity needs associated with clearing products.
● Actively engage in enhancing such processes and controls in partnership with Treasury, Credit Risk, and other functional partners to further mitigate these risks.
● Ensure that the USD Clearing product has processes and controls in place to effectively manage regulatory compliance.
● Manage all aspects of risk, including compliance with external regulatory processes; ensure up-to-date documentation in the form of Product Approval Programs and Risk Assessments/MCA.
● Proactively observe and evaluate industry trends in how risk associated with global clearing products is measured and managed; incorporate such insights into product management processes, pricing decisions, and product development roadmaps.
● Represent the business in regulator discussions and reviews.
● Partner with teams across Risk Management, Compliance, AML, and Legal to proactively manage changes in the industry, in regulations, and in our internal policies.
People and Organizational Development
● Recruit and retain diverse talent within the product team – providing vision, coaching, and development opportunities to individuals; support and promote mobility and diversity.
● Instill effective management processes between the Product team and functional partners (such as Operations, Technology, Client Delivery, Client Sales Management, Finance, Legal, Compliance/AML, and others).

Education:
