LATAM Markets Direct Access (MDA) Specialist | Senior Vice President

Within this organization, the Markets Direct Access (MDA) team connects Citi’s most sophisticated private wealth clients with the institutional power of our global Markets franchise. As the LATAM MDA Specialist, you will be instrumental in driving the growth of this high-value client base in Latin America.
Reporting to the Americas Head of MDA, you will partner closely with Private Bankers, Investment Counselors, the Global Family Office Group, and Markets to identify and onboard new clients, manage the overall Markets relationship, and deliver a best-in-class client experience. You will also take the lead with marketing quantitative investment strategies (QIS) and actively managed certificates (AMCs) in the region with clients, working in conjunction with coverage and product partners. Your success will be measured by client growth, revenue generation, and diligent risk management.
This role requires a seasoned sales and relationship management professional with a deep understanding of institutional capabilities, including multi-asset derivatives, quantitative investment strategies (QIS), prime brokerage, private shares and structured products.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Growth & Relationship Management:
- Identify and build relationships with key decision-makers at professional Ultra-High Net Worth firms and Family Offices.
- Drive the growth of the LATAM client base by expanding accounts and increasing revenue.
- Internal Partnership:
- Collaborate with Private Banking team leaders, Investment Counselors, and other internal partners to present a unified and comprehensive view of Citi’s capabilities.
- Source and integrate new institutional products and services to meet client needs.
- Risk & Compliance Oversight:
- Partner with Risk, Credit, and Legal teams to establish and maintain robust operational procedures.
- Ensure all client referrals and activities adhere to suitability, appropriateness, and regulatory standards.
- Uphold the firm's reputation by applying sound ethical judgment and escalating any control issues with transparency.
- Appropriately assess risk in all business decisions, safeguarding the firm, its clients, and its assets.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in institutional sales or relationship management.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is strongly preferred.
- Expert knowledge of products and capabilities across asset classes, including:
- Cash trading, derivatives, QIS, and Actively Managed Certificates (AMCs).
- Prime brokerage, financing, credit extension, and structuring.
- Proven experience working with Family Offices and navigating institutional suitability requirements.
- Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
- Demonstrated history of strong sales and pipeline management; detail-oriented and organized.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s, MBA, or CFA is a plus.
