This role is a senior-level position responsible for assisting large multinationals in Consumer & Retail Sector with their global banking needs, including capital raise, risk management, transaction services as well as providing corporate finance advisory services for financial transactions in coordination with the broader Banking team. The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor to our clients by formulating strategic and financial strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage relationships with a portfolio of multinational clients in the Consumer & Retail sector.

  • Understand global, regional, and emerging market trends within the Consumer & Retail sector to identify growth opportunities, anticipate obstacles, and communicate a forward-looking vision that is responsive to changes in the environment.

  • Responsible for overall parent relationship management of clients and providing a wide range of treasury and corporate finance solutions, including cash management, trade, supplier finance, FX, credit, loans, debt capital markets, share repurchase, and interest rate, commodity, and equity derivatives.

  • Drive client planning, product-agnostic cross-selling, client access, and effective capital allocation within the Corporate Banker proposition.

  • Translate Citi’s strategy into an effective and efficient Corporate Bank business plan for the Consumer & Retail portfolio.

  • Responsible for meeting revenue goals and other goals related to budget, risk management, and credit allocation in partnership with Global Capital Management (GCM) and Risk.

  • Drive innovation, differentiation, speed to market, and promote cross-selling of products across the full Banking platform.

  • Partner with the Investment Banking team to drive and execute episodic transactions and with key stakeholders, including Risk and GCM, to allocate capital prudently, appropriately, and in adherence to all Citi risk policies.

  • Ensure client relationships and proposed client solutions meet or exceed internal risk and return standards, including stringent ethical standards and anticipated future changes in the marketplace.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in Corporate Banking, with deep expertise in the Global Consumer & Retail sector. Experience with multinational corporations and cross-border financing is essential.

  • Senior Credit Officer or equivalent designation preferred.

  • In-depth experience managing and working across a diverse, multi-country, multi-product business with broad people management experience.

  • In-depth experience advising clients on capital raising and risk management strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance between internal management and external client time.

  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance issues and regulatory requirements (global and local).

  • Proven leadership skills and intellectual capability to create momentum and a collective agenda across multiple products with a diverse population and competing priorities.

  • Demonstrated intellectual grasp of the global Consumer & Retail industry and ability to anticipate and lead the organizational response to future changes and translate vision into executable plans.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately.

  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication.

  • FINRA Licenses 7, 24, 63 & 79

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree

  • Master's/MBA degree preferred
