Job Description:

Citi is looking for a Balance Sheet Strategy Senior Lead Analyst to join the Balance Sheet Strategy and Returns team within the Treasury function, playing a central role in shaping how Citi manages and utilizes its financial resources. In this position, you will drive strategic analysis and initiatives that directly inform senior decision-making on capital, liquidity, and returns. This is a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of Treasury strategy, corporate finance, and executive engagement, with direct visibility into Citi's firm-wide balance sheet planning priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of impactful materials and critical analyses for a senior cross-functional strategy forum focused on generating and recommending initiatives that improve Citi's financial resource utilization and returns.
  • Coordinate and support strategy working group sessions that feed into the forum, engaging directly with senior business stakeholders to solicit input, organize breakout sessions, and assess the quality of analyses presented.
  • Serve as a Treasury sponsor delegate for Citi's cost of equity framework, ensuring its outputs remain accurate, current, and decision-ready for use across the organization.
  • Calculate, track, and analyze Citi's cost of capital using the cost of equity framework, producing key deliverables in support of senior management reporting and decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain consistent return frameworks that guide the appropriate allocation of Citi's capital and financial resources across the organization.
  • Engage with Corporate M&A on behalf of Treasury to conduct comprehensive financial impact assessments and support senior Treasury leadership's M&A oversight responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 10 or more years of experience in financial services, with demonstrated expertise in balance sheet management, Treasury, or a closely related discipline.
  • Advanced analytical capability in evaluating actual and forecast financial results.
  • Strong proficiency in analytical tools such as Excel, Python, and SQL, applied to complex financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and persuasively, across written communication, presentations, and senior-level verbal settings.
  • Solid command of balance sheet fundamentals and profit and loss dynamics, with the ability to translate financial data into strategic recommendations.
  • Familiarity with Citi financial systems or equivalent enterprise-grade Treasury and finance platforms used in large financial institutions is an advantage.
  • Experience presenting to or preparing materials for senior governance forums, executive committees, or investor-facing audiences is an advantage.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field; a Master's degree is an advantage.
