Job Overview
This role will drive the product management agenda within the Middle East and Pakistan (MEP) region, including countries such as UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Pakistan, managing the end-to-end product life cycle for a suite of Liquidity Management Services products. The incumbent will own product strategy, definition, development, and execution. This includes building and prioritizing a product backlog, defining business requirements, and managing associated business processes, risks, and controls. This position requires a senior candidate with a strong background in product management, product development, project management, risk & controls, and a deep understanding of financial services and associated business processes. The role will report to the MEA LMS Head and will partner closely with Sales, Technology, Operations, and Risk & Controls teams
Responsibilities:
- Execute the product strategy in various markets across the MEP region (UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Pakistan) for all product pillars within LMS, including Deposits & Investments (D&I), Global Liquidity and Cash Concentration (GLCC) and Balance Sheet management (BSM).
- Achieve and oversee revenue targets and profitability for the LMS product suite in the MEP region.
- Identify market opportunities, emerging trends, and client needs, ensuring the readiness of LMS products accordingly.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Technology, and Compliance to implement new products or enhance existing ones.
- Map out and understand all local regulations applicable to the product and their impact on monitoring and regulatory reporting requirements in the MEP countries.
- Identify, prioritize, and author product and business requirements/user stories, including sequencing and timing to enhance business processes and controls.
- Maintain product documentation, capability grids, policies, and procedures, ensuring all local regulatory requirements are being complied with.
- Act as a subject matter expert for LMS products, providing guidance and training to the sales team.
- Participate in client meetings where required to represent the product and gather feedback.
- Assist with ongoing performance and maintenance of a product or set of products, including client experience, pricing, risk, and distribution.
- Represent customer needs and provide strategic direction on product development features, functionality, and overall competitiveness.
- Manage any proactive product risk and control, documentation, credit, legal, and regulatory risk for the markets in the MEP region.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance.
Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in Product Management and/or Product Development.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the industry, banking, and investment products.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of local regulations in the MEP region (UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Pakistan) for the specific products.
- Working knowledge of different banking systems and practices relevant to the function.
- Practical experience of multiple business cycles and product flow.
- Knowledge of industry and competitor products/services across the MEP region.
- Deep experience establishing and enhancing a Product controls environment.
- Experience driving software delivery transformation through Agile practice and process, with a focus on establishing a Continuous Delivery culture and process.
- Ability to make complex judgments and to provide solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
- Developed diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence, and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.
- Experience with and confidence in delivering presentations to clients and senior managers.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience of working in MEP region.
- Fluent English, Arabic speaking preferred.
- Master's degree preferred.
