Who we are and what we do:

Cornell University Hospital for Animals (CUHA) provides leadership in patient care, education, clinical investigation, and scientific innovation and is one of the finest veterinary teaching hospitals in North America. As an extension of CUHA, the Cornell Ruffian Equine Specialists’ (CRES) Hospital in Elmont, NY will provide state-of-the-art surgical, imaging, diagnostic, and rehabilitation services to enhance equine health. At CRES, veterinarians aspire to assimilate knowledge gained on all fronts – at the track, in the show ring, at the research bench, and in the hospital – to deliver paradigm-shifting veterinary medical care.

We currently have an opening for a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) position. • Provide technical assistance for routine and complex emergencies, case workups, and procedures.

  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Interest in on-going career growth and advanced skill development.

  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to work in a busy, team-oriented clinical environment

  • As this is a very physically demanding job, applicant must have demonstrated ability to restrain large animals as well as the ability to jog horses multiple times daily; must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time as well as the ability to kneel and remain in a steady position during procedures or treatments.

  • Rabies vaccine and ongoing titer checks will be required and paid for by the clinic.
