The primary objective of this position is to secure and renew major gift commitments from current parents, especially non-alumni current parents. Success of this position will be assessed based on number of solicitations, dollars raised from new gifts, and renewal/increases of prior-year commitments.

  • Develop and implement targeted one-on-one communication methods to initiate and maintain contact with prospective and existing individuals within the assigned portfolio.

  • Work with colleges and units to identify new and existing opportunities to identify, cultivate and solicit leadership and major gift prospects through on-campus and off campus engagement opportunities (e.g., lectures, advisory committees, career services and other volunteer activities).

  • Serve as member of the Parents Program team along with other key individual giving officers to strengthen cultivation and solicitation strategies to accelerate and increase success rate of major gifts.

  • Work closely with other members of the Parents Giving Program, as well as prospect management and business intelligence team to quickly identify and qualify incoming parents and generate tracking/reports.

Core Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience working in a fundraising or related position in higher education, medicine, or other non-profit.

  • Must be a fearless virtual and in-person solicitor of leadership level gifts who is tactful but persistent.

  • Must have excellent communication skills.

  • Demonstrate the highest professional and ethical standards, confidentiality, sensitivity, diplomacy and sound judgment in all interactions.
