Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Manager in New York, New York
Work You’ll Do
Provide corporate and private equity buyers with a broad continuum of advisory services to support mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, investment and financing structures, disposition alternatives and post-transaction activities. Work with clients before, during and after the transaction. Work with clients across corporate functions such as finance, treasury, human resources, operations, information technology and risk management to analyze and evaluate the tax profile and to implement planning designed to help meet each organization’s global goals, strategies and business objectives. Perform the effective diagnosis, solution, development and implementation of clients' tax needs. Direct complex tax research, formulate tax-planning strategies and perform tax reviews. Have an opportunity to expand tax research skills via extensive tax research involving complex technical tax issues across a broad spectrum of federal tax law including Subchapter C, Subchapter K, consolidated returns, tax accounting methods, taxable and non-taxable transactions, and executive compensation. Will commute within the New York, NY area to consult with clients concerning the above job duties.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (willing to accept foreign equivalent).
- Three years of experience as Tax Manager or related occupation providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client workpapers and tax returns.
- Experience must include three (3) years of:
- creating and analyzing trial balance, tax workpapers, and journal entries to prepare federal, state, and local tax returns;
- preparing federal, state, and foreign corporate tax returns, including Forms 1065, 1120, and 8865;
- reviewing consolidated and separate entity, federal and multi-state tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and REITs;
- responding to tax inquiries and Information Document Requests (IDRs) from the IRS and other tax authorities by reviewing the relevant tax code sections, IRS rulings, and similar state tax rulings;
- using tax software and research tools, including CorpTax, GoSystems, RIA Checkpoint, LexisNexis, and CCH, to research tax issues and prepare federal and state tax returns; and
- mentoring and coaching junior team members.
- Less than 10% domestic travel required outside of normal commuting distance.
- Salary: $142,646.00 - $203,060.00/year
