Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in New York, New York.
Work You’ll Do
Help clients develop tax-aligned compensation and benefits programs that address their global and domestic needs. Work with clients to streamline their programs while managing tax effectiveness, risks, and costs. Assist clients with developing the strategies, processes, and technologies that affect their staff and operations on a worldwide scale. Responsible for managing internal resources and works directly with clients to provide expatriate and foreign-national tax compliance and consulting services to multi-national clients. Review individual income tax returns, conduct US tax law research, manage tax consulting projects, and assist in the administration of company tax programs. Utilize knowledge in expatriate and foreign national tax compliance, tax equalization policy implementation/consulting, and management of international assignee populations of multi-national clients. Utilize experience with the individual income tax issues and tax law including foreign national and expatriate issues, foreign tax compliance and the tax equalization process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
- Eighteen months of experience as Tax Senior or related occupation gaining expatriate and foreign national tax compliance and equalization and domestic and global mobility and income tax advisory experience.
- Experience must include eighteen months of:
- preparing assignment cost analysis, advising on home and host country tax implications, and coordinating with relocation vendors and local payroll;
- utilizing tax research tools, including CCH to provide tax compliance and consulting services to global business travelers and utilizing tax software, including CCH Axcess, to compute taxes, conduct research, and integrate with internal tracking tool;
- researching and analyzing taxation issues applicable to individuals for multi-state jurisdictions;
- preparing US individual income tax return Form 1040 and Form 1040-NR based on client’s employee provided information and compensation details received from payroll team;
- reviewing requirements for foreign financial accounts reporting in the US and preparing the Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts for tax individuals who meet the filing requirements;
- assisting with filing US federal and state individual income tax extensions, including running extension estimates for tax balances, to meet tax deadlines;
- assessing clients’ compensation breakdowns and conducting US gross up tax calculations by utilizing Alteryx for client compensation team to confirm the gross wage amount that the employer needs to pay employees during international relocation;
- monitoring project financials and billing processes, mentoring junior staff and interns, and collaborating with teams on the compliance process workflow;
- conducting benchmarking of mobility program benefits data to assist with clients' global and domestic mobility program designs or re-designs at a country or global level;
- documenting processes concerning clients’ mobile assignee programs, specifically related to service initiations, tax compliance and benefits; and
- conducting employee tax projections analysis using research tools, including BNA.

Hours: M-F, 40 hours/week;
Annual Salary: $85,680.00 - $159,120.00
