Controllership Financial Reporting Manager

Work You’ll Do
As part of the Controllership Financial Reporting team, responsibilities include:
- Assess current-state controllership processes and identify at least 3+ documented pain points/gaps relative to target state best practices; prepare measurable roadmaps for transformation.
- Develop and validate solution hypotheses for identified challenges, leveraging at least 4 recognized levers: people, process, technology, governance.
- Apply relevant specialized accounting standards with evidence of implementation of at least one regulatory or compliance framework (e.g., U.S. GAAP, IFRS, SOX).
- Deploy improvements to finance data models, cost transparency, financial close/consolidation, financial operations/reporting with successful outcomes tracked by KPIs or project deliverables.
- Deliver work using at least two leading-edge financial technologies (e.g., Alteryx workflows, M365 Copilot, analytics dashboards).
- Manage day-to-day relationships with project teams and clients, demonstrated by leading at least one multi-stakeholder engagement.
- Participate in engagement planning and budgeting for projects valued at $500K+; manage engagement economics, risk, and timelines with documented successful project closures.
- Contribute to the proposal development process for finance transformation opportunities, with samples of delivered proposals or pursuits.
- Engage in recruiting and retention activities, as shown by involvement in at least two talent initiatives.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 6 years of technical/advisory experience in entity and enterprise accounting, finance transformation, technical/operational accounting, financial planning and analysis, or cost accounting, demonstrated by project portfolios or referenceable work.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Risk Management, Economics, or related field.
- One of the following certifications held or actively pursuing: CPA, CIA, CFA, CA, CCA, CMA, CAIA, or FRM.
- Demonstrated experience delivering work with automation tools, with examples such as building at least 2 Alteryx workflows or leveraging M365 Copilot features in client engagements.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and SEC regulations, substantiated by involvement in at least one compliance or regulatory reporting project.
- Direct people management experience involving supervision of teams of 3+ professionals and handling day-to-day team operations, with measurable team performance metrics.
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with examples of delivering analytics, reporting, or presentations using these tools.
- Ability to travel up to 50% on average, based on project assignments and client needs.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Business, Systems, or Accounting.
- Capabilities in operational and financial internal controls demonstrated by work on at least one Sarbanes-Oxley compliance or similar controls project.
- Experience as a user or administrator of at least one common ERP finance/reporting system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, JDE), with examples of implemented modules or customizations.
- Project experience in process mapping, root cause/gap analysis, requirements management, financial modeling, or value mapping, with at least two documented project deliverables.
- Superior critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with history of leading complex problem-solving initiatives.
- Exceptional interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills (oral and written), demonstrated by leading cross-functional teams or engaging diverse audiences.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, proven by handling simultaneous priorities and deadlines in at least one previous role.
- Ability to work independently, influence stakeholders, and lead multi-disciplinary teams in a consulting or corporate setting.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $144,200-265,600.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
