Position Summary
Manager, Risk & Brand Protection – State Regulatory & Professional Matters
As a State Regulatory Licensing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Deloitte’s risk management initiatives and ensuring proactive compliance with state accountancy laws and regulations in the 54 states/jurisdictions affecting the US firm and professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and interpreting state-specific regulatory requirements, interacting with 54 state boards of accountancy, and helping ensure the firm operates within applicable professional standards and legal frameworks.

Work you’ll so:
- Monitor, analyze, and communicate state regulatory developments that impact Deloitte’s business operations across all US jurisdictions.
- Provide strategic advisory and project management support for the implementation of state CPA licensing compliance initiatives, including the development of policies, procedures, and training materials tailored to specific state regulations.
- Lead or contribute to interactions with state regulators, supporting regulatory filings, and responses to inquiries related to our professionals.
- Translate complex regulatory changes into practical business requirements for firm leadership and impacted practice areas.
- Facilitate the timely flow and accurate communication of regulatory information across compliance, risk, and operational teams to ensure organization-wide awareness and accountability.
- Research and analyze data and trends related to state regulatory and oversight activities, identifying potential compliance risks or emerging issues.
- Support internal investigations or remediation efforts related to state regulation and professional matters, as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned in the area of state regulatory compliance.

Continuous learning, proactive issue identification, and the ability to synthesize regulatory changes into actionable business guidance will be key.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent compliance projects or tasks within a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with proven experience preparing clear, concise, and persuasive materials for a variety of audiences.
- Confidence in engaging with regulators and external stakeholders, and ability to represent the firm's interests with professionalism and integrity.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Adobe; experience with compliance management systems a plus.

Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Public Policy, or a related field.
- 5+ years of direct experience in state regulatory compliance, legal, risk management, or a closely related field; prior experience with state regulatory agencies or compliance programs highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the US state regulatory landscape, including familiarity with CPA licensing and related regulations, or state board oversight.
- Ability to independently interpret and operationalize complex state accountancy laws and regulations.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $88,600-$181,900.
